If you thought “Dirty Dancing” was just a feel good rom-com about summer romance, abortion and Patrick Swayze’s hot abs, you were wrong. It’s actually filled with 77 errors, inconsistencies and WTF-eries that we mostly never noticed before. This new video by CinemaCins counts them all up (in under eight minutes!). Why is Baby’s sister brushing her hair in the backseat of a car with the windows open? Why is the best place to practice lifts in the water? Why does Baby put on lipstick while she’s practicing her moves alone in the forest? Sorry to burst the bubble for all you “Dirty Dancing” fans out there, but it was about time you honestly asked yourself whether that party really needed three watermelons. [Laughing Squid]
I am normally not much of a shmoopy wedding video type, but this couple’s reenactment of a famous scene from “Dirty Dancing” at their wedding has me freaking out. Slayed, I tell you. Near tears! This couple is impressive. Somewhere out there, our dear departed Patrick Swayze is shedding a happy tear for Terra and Drake. Enjoy! [People]

On August 21, 1987— 26 years ago tomorrow — director Emile Ardolino released greatness upon the world in the form of a classic love story (and my all-time favorite flick!), “Dirty Dancing.”
Not only did the originally low-budget film become a box office hit, but it’s left a lasting impression on generations to come, thanks to what I like to call the movie magic trifecta: a great plot with one-liners you can recite from memory (“Nobody puts Baby in a corner”), memorable characters (I would still have a life-sized Johnny Castle cardboard cutout in my house if it weren’t for a flood in my basement), and, most importantly, an epic soundtrack.

In “Crazy Stupid Love” — that funny rom-com starring Ryan Gosling so you know I’ve seen in 20,000 times — Gosling’s character explains to Emma Stone that women want to sleep with him as soon as they find out that he can do the lift from “Dirty Dancing.” I have come to the conclusion that Taylor Swift has seen that film more than I have because A) it’s totally her kind of movie and I know this because I get Taylor Swift, B) she’s pals with Emma Stone, and C) she managed to convince new boyfriend Harry Styles (from One Direction) to do the lift with her at a club this week. In conclusion, while Taylor may be having the time of her life, no one should ever do this again. It’s officially jumped the shark. [MTV]
Listen, I don’t want
to be posting this often about The Gos
. I really don’t. Every time I watch a video of him or see a super sexy photo (aka all photos of him ever), I feel like a diabetic who’s been locked inside a cupcake shop. Look but don’t touch! Or else someone will file a restraining order! Anyway, Ryan is promoting “Crazy Stupid Love” like, well, crazy this week and he can’t help but do something blog-worthy during each appearance, so bear with me. This is my job
. I am answering the call of duty. Here he is demonstrating his “Dirty Dancing” move on Al Roker. Nobody puts Ryan in a corner. [Huffington Post
