The SAG Awards don’t excite me all that much. As Amelia said in her round-up of the best dressed, it’s the most self-congratulatory of the awards shows, being that its entire premise is actors awarding actors. Hollywood is nothing if not self-congratulatory, and I love it despite that, but the SAG Awards just tend to be a snoozefest. Dianna Agron Swears She And Lea Michele Are Not A Couple

“Everybody is convinced that Lea and I are in a relationship. There are supposedly forums with photos of us hugging at work or events. It’s funny, but flattering — Lea is beautiful. Since when can’t you hug your friends? … Once, we were flying from Sydney to Melbourne when a crazy guy grabbed my face and kissed me. Lea yelled and pushed him off of me. A mean stewardess who hadn’t seen it turned around and said, ‘You two be quiet!’ And Lea yelled, ‘No, that man just kissed my friend!’”

Lea And Dianna Get Gossip And Drama, While Amber Shows Girls How To Love Their Bodies

It’s totally cool that Lea Michele, Dianna Agron and Amber Riley are all sharing the May 2011 cover of Marie Claire and getting their own separate individual covers — for one because it annoys me when Lea Michele hogs all the buzz from “Glee,” but because mainstream women’s mags are not exactly known for putting African-American women on the cover. So, yay, for that beautiful Amber Riley cover. However! While I was reading the copy on the different covers, I noticed something wack. Lea and Dianna’s cover lines both read “on the rumors! gossip! drama!”, but Amber’s cover lines are entirely different: “I show girls how to be comfortable with their bodies.” Huh? Don’t get me wrong — I think it’s awesome that Amber Riley gets a cover and that she’s a role model for curvaceous women and girls of all backgrounds. “In the land of Madonna, Britney, Miley, ‘Gossip Girl,’ other public figures and shows that have pushed the envelope and challenged the levels of comfort in their viewers and fans, we are not the first. Now, in perpetuating the type of images that evoke these kind of emotions, I am sorry. If you are hurt or these photos make you uncomfortable, it was never our intention. And if your eight-year-old has a copy of our GQ cover in hand, again I am sorry. But I would have to ask, how on earth did it get there? … These aren’t photos I am going to frame and put on my desk, but hey, nor are any of the photos I take for magazines … If you asked me for my dream photo shoot, I’d be in a treehouse, in a wild costume, war-paint and I’d be playing with my pet dragon.”
