Diablo Cody Teams Up With Charlize Theron For Her Next Flick, “Young Adult”

OK, OK, so “Jennifer’s Body” bombed. But Diablo Cody, the Oscar-winning screenwriter behind “Juno,” is the kind of lady who dusts herself off to try again. Our girl Diablo is teaming up with “Juno” director Jason Reitman again for “Young Adult,” a screenplay she has written about a woman who returns to her hometown and tries to reconnect with the guy she once dated. He’s married with a kid, however, and could care less about her popping up in his life again. Scrumptious Patrick Wilson will allegedly play the male lead, with comedian Patton Oswalt as his schlumpy best friend; Charlize Theron is confirmed to play the female lead who is chasing after her old guy. Damn, the makeup department’s really gonna have to uggify Charlize to make that plot believable. I don’t know a single surburban dad would who wouldn’t drop everything to worship at her feet if she sashayed back in town. Anyway, go, go, go, Diablo! [SlashFilm] Keep reading »

Diablo Cody Talks Trailer Trash With Megan Fox

I’m so into the idea of Diablo Cody‘s new web series, Red Band Trailer, where she invites celebs like Chelsea Handler, Jason Bateman, and Megan Fox to her Airstream trailer to talk trash with them. Megan Fox starts off the interview by calling the very preggo Diablo Cody “huge.” Megan, don’t insult the host. But, seriously, this is the most interesting Megan Fox interview I’ve ever seen. Quotable: Adam Brody Has A Message For Kristen Stewart

“It’s only gotten worse, I’m sure, being a celebrity. At the same time, I don’t have a lot of patience for people who moan about it too much. Because there are many things you could do. It’s like, quit … you don’t need to be an actor, so it’s like if it’s that much of a problem … there’s the door.”

Adam Brody on actors like Kristen Stewart, who don’t seem to enjoy their fame, in an interview with screenwriter Diablo Cody for her new internet talk show, “Red Band Trailer.” Brody and Cody — heh — worked together on “Jennifer’s Body.” [via ONTD] Keep reading »

Who Is Diablo Cody’s Baby Daddy?

Three years after she penned her classic tale of teenage pregnancy, Diablo Cody is preggers herself. “Thanks for the congrats on my fetus,” she tweeted. “No secrets here; just thought it would be fun to see how big I could get before someone noticed.”

So who is the lucky fellow? Diablo’s baby daddy is her husband, Dan Maurio—which is pretty shocking, because we had no idea she was married. Evidently she got hitched to the “Chelsea Lately” writer last summer, but never officially announced it. They took their wedding pix in Times Square. Congratulations, you crazy kids. Quotable: Diablo Cody Will Try Not To Ruin “Sweet Valley High”

“It’s not, like, Atlas Shrugged where people are like, ‘You must have a tremendous amount of respect for this material, you better not f**k this up.’ And yet, people have been surprisingly vocal about the fact that they don’t want me to ruin Sweet Valley High. It’s like bubblegum, come on.”

Diablo Cody To Pen A “Sweet Valley High” Screenplay

OK people, fess up. You’ve read a Sweet Valley High book. Some of you may have breezed through all 152 tomes, while others of you may have stopped in for classics like Elizabeth’s Super-Selling Lemonade or Jessica Quits the Squad. Sure, the series about a pair of blond, Californian twins was no Nancy Drew, but I still adored these books growing up. I always identified with Elizabeth, the older (by four minutes) twin who wrote for the Sweet Valley High newspaper and dreamed of being a journalist, though I definitely had streaks of Jessica, the flighty, boy-crazy twin, too. So I am very excited to tell you that Sweet Valley High is heading for the big screen and … (wait for it) … Diablo Cody will be writing the script as well as producing. We hope this means that the tone of the movie will be midway between the saccharine flavor of the original books and the possessed man-eating of “Jennifer’s Body.” Keep reading »

We See Chick Flicks: “Jennifer’s Body”

Starring Megan Fox, Amanda Seyfried and Amy Sedaris
Directed by Karyn Kusama (“Girlfight”)
Written by Diablo Cody

Please, please, please don’t read other movie reviews of “Jennifer’s Body.” I can tell you what the 50-year-old white men who write them are going to say:

Megan Fox can’t act.
Diablo Cody‘s dialogue sounds like “Juno”!
It’s a horror movie but it’s not that scary.
Nice kissing scene!
Good soundtrack, though.
The end.

Very original, guys! Good job. If you want the real scoop on “Jennifer’s Body,” read on … Keep reading »

Megan Fox And Amanda Seyfried Make Out In “Jennifer’s Body”

In our exclusive, much-talked-about interview with screenwriter Diablo Cody, Cody discussed a buzz-generating scene in her latest flick, “Jennifer’s Body,” in which Megan Fox and Amanda Seyfried make out. “They’re beautiful girls, the scene is hot — I’m not afraid to say that,” she asserted. So, is it really hot or not? Here’s the video evidence, so you can judge for yourself. “I know when I was a teenaged girl,” Cody says, “the friendships that I had with other girls were almost romantic, they were so intense.” Apparently, this is only the beginning of the scene, but it’s pretty steamy. Megan Fox Goes Totally ’80s For Wonderland Magazine

For a new spread in Wonderland magazine, Megan Fox goes totally over-the-top ’80s. Shot by Mariano Vivanco, the story is all about the big hair, the big jewelry, and the LBDs cut to shreds, like that shirt you bought that time you went to Jamaica and got your hair corn-rowed for some reason. We like that the looks are Supergirl bold, but we think we may be experiencing a slight overdose of the “Jennifer’s Body” actress. Still, you can watch the pretty cool behind-the-scenes video and check out more images after the jump. (Read our buzzed-about interview with Diablo Cody on Fox here.)
