I’m so excited! And so scared! “American Horror Story” is back with their second season tonight, and the scary shit is going down this time in an insane asylum. The only person who might be more excited than me is the blogger at Top Coat It, who gave herself this “American Horror Story”-inspired manicure, which features the blood-chilling white-nun-with-black-tears character featured in ads for the show. Gah! Hold me! And then click through this slideshow of super nerdy and elaborate TV-inspired nail art.
Do you still have nails left? I don’t, as I bit them all down watching last night’s episodes of “Revenge,” “Dexter,” and “Homeland.” Let’s recap! (Spoilers ahead!) Keep reading »
Sunday night is basically heaven for TV fans, with “Homeland,” “Dexter,” and “Revenge” having just returned with their new seasons. Each Monday, I’ll post a clip or two from each show, recapping the juiciest bits. If you haven’t watched, be aware that spoilers abound! Keep reading »
Listen up friends and family members: if you’re interested in seeing me for the next few months, you’ll have to pick any other day but Sunday. See, every Sunday I have a standing date with my television to watch a trifecta of my favorite shows: the new seasons of “Dexter,” “Homeland,” and “Revenge” all premiered last night and it was basically the hottest and most exciting date night my TV and I have had in months. (No offense to one of my other favorite Sunday night shows, “Breaking Bad,” but even the most exciting episode of BB can’t be expected to trump three shows, you know?) After the jump, a key scene from each premiere episode. Spoilers abound, so proceed with caution! Keep reading »
“I always come up with a secret for my characters, something that I know that I don’t tell the cast or the crew or the writers, just so that it keeps the character personal and closer to me than anyone else — and that was part of it. It wasn’t necessarily that Deb had a crush on her brother, but it was that there was a pull to him that she may be embarrassed by. Maybe that’s something that the writers picked up on through the years, I’m not sure.”
– “Dexter” actress Jennifer Carpenter on the strange relationship between her character Deb and Dexter. This is the show’s
final second to last season — is anybody still watching? What do you think of their weird character arc? [NYMag,com]
The full trailer for season seven of “Dexter” — which premieres September 30 — is out and dannnnnng it looks bananas. I was a little worried that the cliffhanger at the end of season six — when Deb walked in on Dexter mid-kill — would end up not amounting to much in season seven, with Dex convincing Deb that it was a one-time moment of insanity. But the trailer definitely indicates that Deb finds out much, much more as the season goes on, forcing her to choose between the brother she loves (and, ahem, is in love with) and the job she’s devoted to. But just how far with Dexter go to keep her quiet? I’ll guess we’ll have to watch to find out. Can’t wait!
