Heather Graham And James Franco To Do Porn?

Porn may be the only medium James Franco isn’t seeking total domination of … but he’s edging closer with “Cherry,” an indie film set to begin filming next month. Heather Graham, Lili Taylor and Dev Patel will also star in the flick about a troubled 18-year-old girl who moved to San Francisco and started doing porn. The young porn star in question hasn’t been cast yet (may I suggest the incredible Ryan Keely?), but Graham will play an ex-porn star who directs her, Patel will play her best friend, Taylor will play her alcoholic mother, and Franco is a cocaine-addicted lawyer she befriends. Author Stephen Elliot, who wrote The Adderall Diaries, will direct “Cherry.” (And the two might be working together again, as Franco has optioned the book for a film). I can’t wait to see this one! “Because ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ was such a big hit, there was a lot of pressure in terms of what I did next. For my second film, I wanted a role that would stretch me, but all I was getting offered were stereotypical parts like the goofy Indian sidekick. Asian actors tend not to be sent Hollywood scripts that are substantial or challenging. I’m likely to be offered the roles of a terrorist, cab driver and smart geek. I want to show that I have versatility. You have to remember that, before ‘Slumdog,’ the last film about India that went big at the Oscars was ‘Gandhi,’ as played by Ben Kingsley. The fact that me and Freida [Pinto, his girlfriend] have any kind of platform in Hollywood is a big step forward.”

Now, I’m not a doctor or a porn casting director, but I just spent the last five minutes analyzing this photograph of Dev Patel (best known as a Jamal in “Slumdog Millionaire”) and have determined that he is packing an impressive trouser snake in those tweed pants.
