I really love Demi Lovato. I think she’s super cute, and her music is all right, and she’s by far the nicest and most composed judge on “X-Factor” (and she does an admirable job of making it seem like her co-judge Britney Spears is actually a humanoid). But I just can’t cosign on this aggressively “Golden Girls”-esque ensemble. [Photo: Fame/Flynet]
I love the idea bringing some of Stevie Nicks’ witchy, bohemian style into your wardrobe (in fact, Julie did a Stevie Nicks Style Inspiration post a while back that was spot on), but Demi Lovato’s Stevie-inspired outfit is way too literal for everyday wear. On the bright side, if you were looking for ideas for your Stevie Nicks Halloween costume, well, here you go! [Photo: Fame/Flynet]
Katie Couric seems to have it all, but during her early 20s she battled with an eating disorder, she says on today’s edition of her daytime show, in a confession picked up by the New York Post. “I wrestled with bulimia all through college and for two years after that,” Couric says while talking to Demi Lovato, who has also struggled with eating disorders. “And I know this rigidity, this feeling that if you eat one thing that’s wrong, you’re full of self-loathing and then you punish yourself—whether it’s one cookie or a stick of gum that isn’t sugarless—that I would sometimes beat myself up for that.” Read more…
Done well, leather shorts can hit the perfect balance of classy and edgy–hell, if they’re the right size and cut, they can even be flattering (yes, really!). That being said, it’s also really easy to get them wrong–too short, too tight, or too baggy, and the results can be disastrous. We found 10 celebs braving the leather shorts trend in 10 very different ways. Click through to check ‘em out!
“I would come off stage in front of 18,000 people and suddenly be alone in a hotel room. I’d come crashing down and would try to find a way to recreate that feeling, to stay ‘up.’ Promoters gave me drugs and alcohol in restaurants or clubs. They wanted me to come back so I would be seen there. They were basically kissing my ass. I thought they were my friends. I thought I was having fun. Being a celebrity can be dangerous. Nobody says ‘no’. That’s why so many end up overdosing and dying. It could definitely have happened to me.”
– Demi Lovato opened up in the UK magazine Fabulous about her drug addiction, which, although she doesn’t name it directly, implies she was using an upper like cocaine. Demi has been in and out of rehab and also been public about her diagnosis of bipolar disorder, bulimia and cutting. I’ve been impressed with her candor and I’m really impressed now that she seems to have self-awareness about herself, her addictions, and her so-called “friends”/the people who enable her. There’s nothing sadder than someone who never hears the word “no” and has no idea people are kissing their ass. [TMZ]
