Decode My Dream: I’m Scared Of Falling!

I had a crazy dream last night. I was at the top of a construction crane — the ones they use for high rises. I should mention that I am an architect by profession. The crane was yellow and I was at the very top of it holding on like someone holds on to a ladder and I was looking down at everything below. The crane was moving in a circle, which really put me off balance. I wanted to get down, but I was paralyzed with fear of falling, as this thing spun around slowly in a circle over the buildings below. I looked down at the crane operator, and he smiled and waved. I said, “I’m sorry! I just climbed up here to have a look.” He gave me a thumb’s up. He wasn’t worried about me at all. He trusted that I knew what I was doing as he spun this thing around. I finally started to climb down like a ladder and I met two other guys. They were also hanging on ladder-style. At one point, an elevator the size of a small phone booth rushed by, and the other guy holding on moves his hands just as it passes so it doesn’t knock him down. And I’m thinking, “Man! These guys do this all day, and they don’t get tired and they have no safety harness…..that’s pretty amazing.” So I’m shooting the breeze with them, but I really want to talk about how I’d love to find a way to get that elevator to come by, so I can get in and get down. But there was a feeling of not letting go of the rungs, to grab the other rungs to get down and just being a bit frozen like a cat in a tree hanging on. Any thoughts? – Hanging On for Dear Life

Decode My Dream: I’m Dreaming But I Feel Awake!

“I’ve had a couple of dreams lately where at some point in my dream I become aware that I am dreaming. I don’t wake up, but I actually feel awake and can control my thoughts as I do when I’m awake. For example, I’ve had a reoccurring dream where I am in my childhood bedroom (I haven’t lived there for 20 years) and I see myself sleeping on the bed and the room looks exactly the way it did when I was 8. I see the ceiling fan above me and I look down and notice that I am asleep on the bed. Then I tell myself that I am dreaming and I that I can fly because it’s just a dream. And then I float up really easily toward the ceiling and enjoy my flight. What does this mean? It’s weirding me out.” – Wide Awake Fast Asleep Keep reading »

Decode My Dream: My Ex Is Trying To Kill Me!

“My ex and I have been broken up for nearly a month, but I continue to have reoccurring dreams about him. In all of them he is trying to murder me. I’ve lost track of the number I’ve had, but they all involve him, a knife, and me waking up in complete terror. The first one actually occurred shortly before we broke up after he had informed me that he no longer knew if he was in love in me. In all of them he has made a point of laughing each time he stabs me. It’s reaching the point where I’m trying to avoid sleeping just because I don’t want to wake up screaming. Can you tell me what’s causing these and if I can expect them to stop soon? – Sleep Deprived Keep reading »

Decode My Dream: I Keep Getting Pregnant!

“I had this really weird dream the other night about having a baby. I’d already given birth and the baby was with a group of other babies who were being given up by their mothers for whatever reasons. I didn’t recognize mine at first and started playing with another one. Then I realized it didn’t look like me and went over to the baby that I was sure was mine. I had decided to give the baby up for adoption because I knew I was in no place to have a baby right now — I’m 20 years old, in college, and single — but the more I played with it the more I didn’t want to let it go. I started breast-feeding it at one point, but I tried to do it covertly because I was afraid that I wasn’t allowed to feed it seeing as how it wasn’t really mine anymore. I knew in my dream that I couldn’t keep the baby but I kept going to visit it and hoping that no one would adopt it.

A few months earlier I had a similar dream. I realized I was seven months pregnant and got scared that I hadn’t felt the baby kick yet. Then immediately it started moving around. Someone stole it from me when I was about to give birth and I was on this mission to get it back. I was on the run at the time because the people who had stolen it were also after me. I woke up before I found it. What gives in these dreams?” – Too Young to be a Mother Keep reading »

Decode My Dream: My Left Foot Fell Off!

I had a really weird dream last night. I went to work at the restaurant where I wait tables, but I had a major problem. My left foot fell off. I was freaking out because I obviously couldn’t wait tables without my left foot. I approached my friend Dan and asked him to keep my foot for me — I trusted him to take good care of it because he is anal-retentive and has a mild case of OCD. He put it in a solution in a large bell jar which was filled with formaldehyde. I knew that my foot was safe.

I was worried because I still needed to work and didn’t want my bosses to know that I had no left foot. I could still walk around perfectly, by the way. I started searching for my black tights, because I knew that I would be able to keep my foot on with them and because they are dark that no one would see the bloody cut or the wraps around my ankle. I borrowed a pair of tights from a co-worker, got the foot from Dan, and was going to proceed to attach my foot back on to my leg, although I didn’t actually re-attach it in the dream. Next thing I knew I was showing everyone the bloody cut and we were all in awe of how well the tights were keeping my foot on. What the hell? – Footless Keep reading »

Decode My Dream: Why Does Brandon From “90210″ Haunt My Dreams?

“For some bizarre reason, Jason Priestley (aka Brandon Walsh from “90210″) has been a recurring character in my sex dreams since I was a teenager. Sometimes he’s the one I’m having sex with—I remember one dream in high school where we were doing it in the rain by some lake. It got really muddy and messy, but it was still hot sex. Sometimes Jason just makes a quick appearance. More recently, I remember a dream where I was getting it on in a bar bathroom with my boyfriend at the time (P.S. I am the kind of person who is disgusted by the idea of any physical contact in a bar bathroom), and right in the middle, the door swings open and there’s Jason! He was like, “Oh, sorry,” awkwardly and shut it again. But still, why is he always there? Yes, I’m a big “90210″ fan, but in truth, I am much more of a Dylan lover than a Brandon girl. What does this mean?” – 90210 Girl

THE DREAM IN QUESTION: I had a dream Brad Pitt and George Clooney made me their sidekick. George wanted to go to IHOP for pancakes. They tried to figure out the back way to get in so paparazzi wouldn’t catch me and take photos of me as their “lady friend.” I didn’t like the dress I was wearing. We arrived at the back entrance of IHOP. I was wrapped around the motorcycle with my crotch pressed into Brad’s back. It was more me and Brad, and George was nearby. I didn’t really care about George. I didn’t mind the paparazzi taking photos of me though. My hair was windswept. I looked fierce, storming towards the entrance in my boots and my wrap dress, feeling tiny between these two, big men. Brad kept rubbing the small of my back. It was a GLORIOUS dream. — Stealing Angelina’s Husband, New York, NY

THE DREAM IN QUESTION: I was an actress in a small ensemble group. I found a note saying that someone was going to kill me in the performance. I think I knew who sent the note and it was another guy in the cast. My boyfriend was also in the cast. So, at our meeting before the show, I told everyone that I found this note (because I thought that if I put it out there, the guy would know that everyone knew someone was going to try to kill me). I made eye contact with him when I was reading the note, and he gave me a creepy look. After that, the director told me he thought it would be best if I just went ahead with the show and everyone would be on the lookout for the killer. So my boyfriend and I started to go back to the hotel we were staying at, and on the way back I told him I thought we both needed to get out of there. We were going to run back to the hotel and get all of our stuff and leave town. We just started running, through parking structures, up and down the stairs, across the rooftops (it was really scary) and then I woke up and realized it was a dream. — Don’t Want To Die, Portland, OR Keep reading »

THE DREAM IN QUESTION: I have a reoccurring dream that I discover a wing of a mansion hidden in my apartment. For example, one day I open the closet and find a door that leads to a series of overly decorated rooms that are HUGE. Often in my dreams I discover these rooms are haunted or someone died there. The rooms have really dated furniture, and it’s apparent these rooms have not been lived in for ages.
