How To Remember Your Dreams

Gross Dreams
Gross dream symbols explained. Read More »

I use my dreams as my primary source of inner wisdom in my life. If I want insight into how I really feel about something, clues about areas for growth or guidance on how to proceed with any difficult life situation, I look to my dreams for answers. This is all well and good if you remember your dreams regularly, but many people complain of only being able to recall dreams occasionally, or not at all. Don’t fret. This is something you can get better at if you put a little bit of effort into it. I say this from personal experience.

In college, I took a class that changed my relationship to my dream life entirely. It was called Dream Journal Workshop. Only acting majors would get credit for a course like that, huh? But seriously, it turned out to be one of the most useful classes I took. I even went on to minor in psychology and do graduate work on the subject. Keep reading »

Decode My Dream: A Footless Fling

I had a dream that I walked in on my old boyfriend, whom I have had no contact with in a while, and an old friend who I also don’t talk to, and they were in bed together . These two people do not know each other in reality. I was kind of upset, but not terribly. Then, in the same night, I dreamt that my feet came off but I could stick them right back on. The right foot was a little harder because it was split at the bottom so I had to piece it together . I put them back on but they remained detachable. Can you help figure this one out?– Footless

Decode My Dream: A Different Ex Every Night

For the past week, almost every single night, I’ve had a dream about a different one of my exes. On the first night it was the “good ex.” We broke up a long time ago, but remain friends. In the dream we were holding hands and laughing. It was just like when we were together except he was wearing these weird overalls. The next night, it was an ex that I haven’t spoken to in a while. We’re not on bad terms, but we don’t speak regularly. In my dream we were texting and I felt good about it. Finally, last night, I dreamed of my ex who I really don’t speak with. The one who broke my heart. We were back together. I had this tattoo on my back that was based on our relationship (it doesn’t exist in real life) and he was taking his teeth out of his mouth. There were layers and layers of fake teeth, until I realized he had no teeth at all. I woke up in a panic. All these relationships were at least three years ago. I’ve been single for a while. I thought these guys were in my past. I want to meet a new guy. Am I still hung up on my exes? What do these dreams mean? — The Ex-Files

Decode My Dream: A Visit From A Deceased Dad

I had a dream recently that I can’t seem to make sense of. In my dream, I was on the porch of another home, not the one I currently live in. It was snowing very heavy, which is unusual in southern Alabama, where I live. There were several people, friends and family, walking in with such joy and happiness. My sister walked up and handed me a framed photo of herself as she passed by and walked into the house. As I looked at the picture, my eyes began to water as if I was crying and I turned to look to my side and there stood our dad who passed away 10 years ago. He looked at me and said, “That’s right baby, this is the last one.” I looked away and when I looked back he was gone. At that point, I woke up very shaken. I have had dreams before that actually came true in my life and this one has me very disturbed. Can you please give me some insight? — Missing Dad

Decode My Dream: I Cheat In My Sleep

I have been in a relationship with my first serious boyfriend for a little over a year. Our relationship is great and I am very much in love. A couple of weeks ago, I started having dreams about flirting with other men, being tempted to hook up with them, and even cheating on my boyfriend. Sometimes it was about guys that I know, but mostly it was about strangers. It lasted for about four nights in a row, but I haven’t had them since. I would never even think of cheating on my boyfriend, although I sometimes lose a bit of desire or sexual attraction towards him. I think he is the one, and even though that is absolutely great, I sometimes think about how I might never get to ”experience” dating and being single. So what do those dreams mean? — The Sleeper-Cheater
