“Call me Gabe Day, and not Gabe Day-Lewis/’cause if you’re trying to call me out, I’m about to Gabe Day-Lose it,” raps Gabe Day, son of, um, Daniel Day-Lewis in the “official” music video for his song “Green Auras.” See for yourself, as I am rendered completely unable to parse ANYTHING going on here at this time. The brain. It sputters, stops. [Huffington Post]
Daniel Day Lewis is famous for really inhabiting his roles. On the set of his latest film, “Lincoln,” Lewis lived as Abraham Lincoln 24/7, and the same goes for his characters in ”There Will Be Blood” and “Last of the Mohicans.” So it makes total sense that in Steven Spielberg’s latest biopic, “Obama,” Lewis would really go overboard to play the president. So lifelike! [Mashable]

Daniel Day-Lewis may be this week’s Hump Day Hottie — and, oh yeah, the latest Best Actor Oscar winner — but he’s hardly the flavor of the month. No, DDL is an example of an eternally hot man who only gets better with age. I’ve been salivating over the handsome, charming, soft-spoken Brit for years, but haven’t felt compelled to shout it from the treetops until recently. Click through this gallery to learned the 10 reasons I am — and you should be — obsessed with Daniel Day-Lewis.
Daniel Day-Lewis, one of the hottest actors from the ’80s and early ’90s, famously took a five-year-hiatus from acting in order to become a cobbler in Italy. With his record-setting win at last night’s Academy Awards (he’s the first man to win three Best Actor trophies), it’s clear that Daniel is back and better than ever. You know what else is back? EAR CUFFS. And who better to model this trend than DDL himself? Click on for eight awesome ear cuffs worn by Daniel Day Lewis. I swear, I think I’m even hotter for him now.
For the most part, last night’s Academy Awards were painfully unfunny — Seth MacFarlane, NEVER AGAIN — and way, way, way too long. But there were some great acceptance speeches, unplanned gaffes, and plenty of moments ripe for GIFing. Because I love you, allow me to recap everything worth recapping from last night’s Oscars, in pics, GIFs, and video clips… Keep reading »

I have a total thing for Daniel Day-Lewis. Yes, he has questionable style. But he’s also possibly the most amazing actor ever, which is especially impressive considering he left acting for a few years to become a cobbler in Italy. Did you know that? So cool. He’s sexy and manly, but obviously very much in touch with his feminine side, which explains the piercings in both ears and the somewhat fey use of scarves. Most of all, he seems like a really nice, genuine, unpretentious guy, which is rare amongst the best actors (look at Russell Crowe!). After the jump, a video from the press room interviews after the Academy Awards on Sunday, where Day-Lewis explains why he smooched George Clooney after winning and gives his impression of the rampant cult usage of his “I drink your milkshake, I drink it up”-line from There Will Be Blood. Which reminds me — the guy totally has a great sense of humor. Keep reading »
