Bristol Palin‘s “Dancing with the Stars” partner, Mark Ballas, made the trek to Alaska this weekend to meet the Palins, check out the frozen scenery, and play an acoustic guitar set at a bar called Rumrunners. He posted the pics above on his Twitter page captioned, “Me and my gorgeous partner Bristol … Me and Mama Palin.” Yep, that should curb rumors that these two are dating. Former “Dancing With The Stars” contestant Kelly Osbourne knows whom she is rooting for on season 11. Kelly says that her vote is going to Bristol Palin, for her bravery. “I have a real soft spot for Bristol Palin,” said Kelly. “I really do. I think she’s going out there and trying, and to not have a family member in the audience is the hardest thing in the world.” Let’s hope Mama Palin can make it to some of the performances, because I am sure this beats any kind of elementary school dance recital. Last night, David Hasselhoff was the first C-lister voted off “Dancing with the Stars.” What?!?! With those hip thrusts and that jacket toss? Above, see the “Sex Bomb” cha cha that got David eliminated. After hearing that he was out, David said, “It’s been a great ride. I feel bad for Kym because she worked so hard to try and get me where I was going. I’m just so proud that my daughters are here and got to see me go this far.” We’re sure they’re proud, too. Kind of. Last night was the season premiere of “Dancing with the Stars” and one of the biggest surprises of the night was that Bristol Palin, “teen activist,” wasn’t the most horrible dancer. Sure, she was awkward and a little stiff and definitely shy, but she showed bursts of potential throughout her minute-plus routine, and even, dare I say it, a tiny little dash of sex appeal. Could Bristol actually be a real threat in the competition? If so, let’s hope Mama Palin doesn’t confuse this dark horse for a caribou in a fringe mini.

“She’s not ready. She’s very nervous. She’s never performed or done anything like that in her life, so it’s like we’re starting completely from scratch and having to build her confidence and make her feel like she’s doing it well. [Bristol] needs to work on moving her hips and not being shy to be sexy and sensual and womanly when she’s dancing. She’s a little shy, little taken back. She’s out of her element. She’s uncomfortable. It’s new for her. But she’s getting comfortable with it as we go along.”
— Mark Ballas, who is Bristol Palin‘s dancing partner on “Dancing With The Stars,” says the Wasilla teen mom is not quite ready for a hotcha cha-cha-cha. Sounds like her $30K-a-pop pro-abstinence speeches are making it tough to call forth her womanly wiles. [iVillage] Keep reading »

Rehearsals have begun for season 11 of “Dancing with the Stars” and ABC has released images of some of our fave contestants. Here, Bristol Palin is shown some moves by her partner, Mark Ballas. Can he turn Alaska’s former first daughter from preggers prom queen into a ballroom dancer? Personally, I think it’s cute that they’re in socks. [Zap2It]

Last night, during a commercial break from “Bachelor Pad,” “Dancing with the Stars” unveiled its new cast members. And as we’d suspected, the new cast includes: Bristol Palin, Audrina Patridge, Brandy, Jennifer Grey, Florence Henderson, The Situation, Michael Bolton, and David Hasselhoff. The surprises? That the amazing Margaret Cho will be rumba-ing alongside them. Other than that, retired NFL quarterback Kurt Warner, retired basketball player Rick Fox, and actor/rapper Kyle Massey are also on the bill. To which we say, Who?

Today, there are some big happenings in Wasilla, Alaska. Or at least big happenings for Levi Johnston and Bristol Palin—and that’s like 10 percent of the city’s population, no? First, let’s talk Bristol. E! Online is reporting that she’s joined the cast of “Dancing with the Stars 11″ along with David Hasselhoff, Audrina Patridge, and The Situation. Wait a second? Didn’t Bristol supposedly break up with Levi because he was pushing her to be on a reality show? [Huffington Post] Keep reading »
