David Williams is no stranger to Dallas, TX, city council meetings. The 11-year-old has attended several with his mother in the past. But when David attended a meeting this past Wednesday, he was put off by the adult council members’ bad behavior. And he decided to say something.
In the video above, David heads to the speaker’s podium to ask a question about preventing violence in schools. And when the council fails to acknowledge him, he asks another question: “Do you feel it is acceptable for city council members to be up and walking around while constituents are addressing them?” Keep reading »
A serial rapist in Dallas is apparently targeting alumnae of the Delta Sigma Theta sorority, a Dallas newspaper reports. Over the past eleven months, four black women in their 50s and 60s who are alumnae of DST in the Dallas area have been victims of home invasions between 9 p.m. and 4 a.m. All were raped by seemingly the same suspect. Each woman said the rapist seemed to know personal information about them, which might suggest he’s targeting them through some kind of affiliation they all have. As such, the Plano, Texas, police department is warning DST alumnae (a predominantly black sorority) that arapist is afoot.

We’re still not 100 percent in favor of a network dredging up a television hit of yesteryear and updating it with hot, young actors. I mean, the rebooted “90210” and “Hawaii 5-0″ have their moments—but the new “Melrose Place” was truly terrible and we don’t have huge hopes for Minka Kelly’s “Charlie’s Angels.” Last night, TNT debuted a preview of their rehash of “Dallas,” which will feature original stars Larry Hagman, Patrick Duffy and Linda Gray alongside newcomers Jesse Metcalf, Josh Henderson, and Jordana Brewster. In the preview, J.R. and Bobby Ewing do the most talking while the hot, young things do a lot of … makeout scenes. So maybe this show will be okay after all? We’ll have to wait until next summer to see. [EW] Keep reading »
For every television reboot that works, there’s one that fails miserably. The CW’s new “90210″ is now in its third season, while the Ashlee Simpson-tainted “Melrose Place” revamp disappeared after one. The rebooted “Knight Rider” tanked, while this year’s “Hawaii Five-0” is a mega-hit. Now TNT is resurrecting another beloved series of the past—”Dallas,” the very ’80s soap series about a family of oil tycoons in Texas. Rumor has it that Kiefer Sutherland of “24″ and hot Josh Holloway of “Lost” are in discussions to play a new generation of Ewings in the series. Meanwhile, Larry Hagman (J.R. Ewing), Patrick Duffy (Bobby Ewing) and Linda Gray (Sue Ellen Ewing) are in talks to reprise their classic roles. So will “Dallas” work in 2011? Guess we’ll have to see. But I wouldn’t be surprised if we hear about a “Dynasty” reboot any second now. [TV Guide, Digital Spy] Keep reading »
