Life Dream Status: Cynthia Rowley’s Boozy Bangles
This picture has been floating around for awhile, but hey, it’s never too late to celebrate the existence of flask bangles, is it? These brilliant, booze-filled bracelets made their debut on the runway of a Cynthia Rowley show, and if they’re not available for purchase soon, I’m going to have to try to hollow out some of my vintage wood bangles. They definitely won’t be as glamorous, but they’ll do the job. [The Daily What]
Give Me A Paper Cut! Cynthia Rowley Band-Aids Are Too Cute
Designer Band-Aids: redonkulous in theory, adorable in actuality. Cynthia Rowley‘s blinged-out bandages for Johnson & Johnson are 20 for $10, with one dollar of proceeds going to the charity Design Ignites Change. The group gets high school and college students involved in design and architecture. Super-cute and for a good cause? I might just wear one even without a cut. [CynthiaRowley.com] Keep reading »
Not A Joke: Cynthia Rowley To Make Designer Diapers
It’s official: Fashion diapers are now a trend. First Huggies came onto the scene with their hipster-fied denim diapers. Now news has just broke that Cynthia Rowley will collaborate with Pampers to design a line of the baby panties, to be sold at Target come mid-July. Her second collab with the mass retailer, this one sounds like high fashion for four-month-olds. According to a company statement, “the pastel designs includes madras, stripes and printed ruffles suited specifically to babies and toddlers.” Cute? Or a sign of an impending designer diaper boom? How To Get Fake Bangs With The Help Of A Hair Donut
Backstage at Cynthia Rowley, I spotted a new ‘do that some of you ladies out there (and certain people around here) are going to love. The curled bang look created by hairstylist Bok-Hee is just as retro as Simcha’s usual pompadour, but, as Bok-Hee told me, it has “a little modern twist.” To create the bang, Bok-Hee combed a section of hair forward and rolled it over a hair donut she had cut to fit the model’s forehead, pinning it into place. The rest of the hair was slicked back into a pony, and that’s it! This could also be a pretty slick way to try bangs before you commit to cutting your hair. Just pair with this purple MAC shadow they blended together to give the look a modern edge. Keep reading »
