Animal abuse? The best day of this tiny hamster’s life? Hard to say! Either way, someone had the wherewithal to make a pile of itty-bitty, hamster-sized hot dogs and feed them to one lucky rodent, racing against the clock with Takeru Kobayashi, competitive eater and Guiness world record holder for the most hot dog noshed. On July 4th, 2014, Kobayashi set a new record by eating 113 bunless hot dogs in 10 minutes — but how does he hold up against this little guy? [YouTube]
I would never condone recreational painkiller use by domesticated animals. Just say no, dogs! But if they’re going to get high off of pain medications due to a trip to the vet, while, I guess that’s okay. Just make sure you film it for a supercut of high-off-their-ass pooches who have no idea what’s going on. Oh, if only these guys could talk … [The Daily Dot]
Meet Draven Rodriguez, a junior at Schenectady High School in upstate New York, and his cat, Mr. Bigglesworth. For reasons that should be pretty obvious, Rodriguez is determined to have the above photo featured in his high school yearbook and has preemptively started an online petition asking for its inclusion. “I’m not trying to make any statement,” Rodriguez told The Daily Gazette, “other than my photo is ridiculous and this is how I am.” While school officials haven’t officially banned the photo entirely, they have told Rodriguez and Bigglesworth that their professionally shot photo cannot be included in the yearbook’s usual portrait section. Luckily, the dynamic duo is willing to compromise and would be cool with the photo appearing elsewhere in the yearbook. In other words, there’s really no controversy to report yet, but the photo is awesome and I wanted you to see it and, hey, early public support can’t hurt, right? Sully the tabby cat is a hero after rescuing her owner Craig Geeves from a fire in his home in a Melbourne, Australia suburb. Craig was asleep when the fire began around 1 a.m. on Monday. Sully sat on Craig’s chest meowing loudly in his face to wake him. Craig told the Australian Broadcasting Company, “She was standing on my head screaming, the loudest scream I’ve ever heard from a cat screaming at me and then I smelt the smoke and jumped out of bed … she saved my life.” Keep reading »
No, “chubby prairie dog gets stuck in a hole” is not a naughty euphemism (but it could be). This is simply a video of a fat prairie dog who vastly overestimated his ability to exit a hole in the ground. Lucky for him, some good Samaritans drove by to pull his ass outta that hole. Clearly he is flipping the fuck out because he thinks he’s about to become somebody’s lunch. Instead they filmed the entire thing and posted it on YouTube, much to his eternal prairie dog humiliation. Close up of the rescue begins at 1:19!
