The Daily Ovulation: Meet The Cutie Underneath Mini Darth Vader’s Mask

I gotta admit, I was kind of hoping that a little girl was beneath the mini Darth Vader costume in the Volkswagon Passat commercial that aired during the Super Bowl. It would just have been rad to find out the little badass was female, but alas, it was not meant to be. On “Today,” 6-year-old Max Page was unmasked as the adorable cutie donning the black suit and wielding the power of the force and I don’t begrudge him this new fame in the slightest. May the force be with you, Max! And safe-driving! [MSNBC] Keep reading »

Ryan Gosling + Orphans + Dancing = Dying Inside

Look, it’s not like I want to be posting Ryan Gosling videos every day — they just keep appearing and it’s my duty as his unofficial fan club president/lover to present them to you. In this clip, also from his appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” this week, Ryan shows footage he shot in Africa — for a documentary I believe — featuring a group of orphan children dancing to Rihanna’s “Rude Boy.” One girl in particular caught his eye with her “wildly unique” dance moves. I am also impressed and really think this cutie needs to be on “Toddlers & Tiaras,” stat. She would completely smoke the competition. Ryan, on the other hand, needs to rehearse a little more. The Daily Ovulation: I Hope My Daughter Speaks French And Has A Bob

Little kids are basically always adorable, but certain traits are bound to make any childless woman’s uterus do cartwheels. For example, a child retelling a classic story, like Winnie-The-Pooh, with wide-eyed enthusiasm. Or a little girl with a perfectly “Amelie”-esque bob haircut. Or a wee voice speaking in perfect French. This little girl has all three. I don’t even need the subtitles. [via Huffington Post] Keep reading »

Justin Bieber Kissed A Girl — And This Little Girl Does Not Like It

Poor Madison. The 4-year-old was trolling YouTube and came across a video in which her favorite pop star, Justin Bieber, was kissing a girl (on the cheek, it seems) and she is not happy about it. At all. Honey, this is the way I felt when Chad Allen came out of the closet, but don’t worry, time heals all wounds. [BuzzFeed] Keep reading »

Girls Ruin Everything For Boys

Here’s the thing. All Geoffrey wanted to do was have a good time at the zoo. Since Geoffrey is only four, you wouldn’t think that would be too much to ask. Unfortunately, the universe was not working in Geoffrey’s favor on zoo-trip day, and everything went to hell in a hand basket faster than you can say, “Pull my cart.” Here’s what Geoffrey endured: the zebras, the giraffes, and then he “wasted [his] time to see the lions, the pumas, and the bears.” All thanks to some so-called “friends” and the evil Mama and Papa. “I really wanted to make this day good,” he asserts. Here’s the rub: he was forced to see the “gentle animals.” So what, pray tell, non-gentle animals did Geoffrey want to see and was denied? The notoriously violent otters, apparently. As it turns out, some little girl named Harmony is to blame for this travesty. I feel for Geoffrey. I really do. Stay strong, little man. [Urlesque] Keep reading »

Dad Makes Adorable Pancakes For His Daughter

At Jim’s Pancakes, a 30-year-old ad executive in Reno, Nevada, named Jim Belosic makes amazing pancakes for his 3-year-old daughter Allison, and blogs the results, which are pretty awesome. “Just trying to make some cool pancakes for my daughter” is how he describes the project. Here, Allie prepares to eat an American Flag pancakes, but first salutes veterans on Memorial Day. Check out these lifelike bacon and egg pancakes, some Daddy bling pancakes, and pancake rocketry. “My dad used to try to make me fun pancakes, but the best he could do was a light bulb or a Mickey Mouse, which was always misshapen and scary,” Belosic says. “I wanted to give the same experience to my daughter.” We love it. Jessica’s Awesome Affirmation

Up until about 10 minutes ago, I was having a kind of “meh” day — I don’t think I got enough sleep this weekend, I’m stressed about a couple things, and I’m having a bad hair day. Then I saw this awesome video, of young Jessica standing in front of her bathroom mirror proclaiming all the things she loves about her life and herself, and I thought, Man, what a great idea! So, just as soon as I’ve hit “submit” on this post, I’m headed to The Frisky’s loo for an enthusiastic affirmation session of my own, cribbing Jessica’s own words to start — I can do anything good! The Daily Ovulation: A 5-Year-Old Johnny Cash Fan

So, last week my best friend gave birth to her first child, Charlie, and I did not think my ovaries could pulsate with maternal longing more than when I held him for the first time and he sucked on my finger. But then a friend sent me this video and those same ovaries did cartwheels. So, yeah, this 5-year-old who turns the letter “R” into “W” whilst singing Johnny Cash’s “Folsom Prison Blues” just made my ticking biological clock count down in double time. Keep reading »
