Crave: CC Skye Safety Pin Necklace

Remember those beaded safety pin bracelets from camp? Yes, the elastic ones with the multi-colored seed beads. We never, ever, thought safety pin jewelry would make a comeback. However, ever since we spotted this sparkly, gold safety pin necklace, we’ve been obsessed. It’s delicate and yet it adds an element of toughness to any outfit. So, we stand corrected. Office supplies can be fashionable. [$100, CC Skye] Keep reading »

Crave: Toss Designs Resort Cosmetic Cases

Haven’t changed your cosmetic case in a while? We bet it’s pretty yucky in there, what with the eyeliner remnants and goops of lip gloss. Since a cosmetic case can get pretty funky, our main requirement is that it’s lined in vinyl, like these from Toss Designs. But it has to be pretty, too. These cases are constructed of leopard-print pony hair. We’ve seen other accessories made of pony hair, but never a cosmetic case. They’re so chic we might carry the larger one as a clutch. Crave: Live Alone And Like It (Win A Copy!)

This little book of advice for single women was written back in 1936. The author, Marjorie Hillis, was a fancy pants editor at Vogue who was single until age 49, three years after this book was published. Her old timey advice is amusing, but remains applicable – there’s even a chapter titled “Pleasures of A Single Bed.” [$11.89, Amazon.com]

We’re giving away five copies of Live Alone and Like It: The Classic Guide for the Single Woman, but you have to work if you want one. The five best commenters for this coming week—from today, Friday, Dec. 12 through Thursday, Dec. 19—will be awarded with one. So, be as clever, smart, and original as you can!
