Jennifer Aniston Analyzes Courteney Cox On “Cougar Town”

On Wednesday night, Jennifer Aniston appeared on “Cougar Town.” Unlike her guest-starring role on “Dirt,” there were no lesbian kisses here. This time JenAn played Courteney Cox‘s new age-y, wacked-out, honeysuckle-peddling therapist. But she does kiss her dog. Keep reading »

Quotable: Josh Hopkins Says He And Jennifer Aniston Are Just Friends

“No, no, we’re just friends—just friends having dinner. There’s a lot of friends I’d less rather go to dinner with. Well I’m a southern gentleman, so I had to [pay]. There are worse people to be in a rumor with.”

Josh Hopkins of “Cougar Town” responds to the rumor that he went on a romantic date with Jennifer Aniston. Wait, this guy went out to dinner with one of the richest women in America, and still paid? Now he sounds like even more of a catch. Jen, get on that. [People] Keep reading »

Jennifer Aniston To Appear On “Cougar Town”

Oh man, the fall TV guest stars just keep getting better and better. The word on the street is that Jennifer Aniston will be joining bestie and former “Friends” co-star Courteney Cox over in “Cougar Town.” Sources say Jennifer is near to inking a deal to appear sometime during the show’s second season—just like Lisa Kudrow did when she played a rage-o-holic dermatologist during season one. The show’s executive producer is playing coy on this one, saying, “I would love for it to happen but there’s nothing to talk about yet.” But we have a feeling Jennifer will do it. After all, she helped Courteney out by playing her ex-girlfriend on the far less popular show “Dirt.” Heck, in the clip above they even did a strangely sterile lesbian smooch to boost ratings there. So what will “Cougar Town” do to up the ante? [EW] Keep reading »

Renaming “Cougar Town”? 10 Alternate Show Titles We’d Like To See

Apparently, “Cougar Town” co-creator Bill Lawrence is not too happy with his show’s title. He feels that the name just doesn’t match up with the show, which has become more about a group of neighbors than just about star Courteney Cox. “There are too many instances of testing where people say they would never watch a show called ‘Cougar Town’—‘I don’t want to see some show about a 40-year-old woman nailing younger guys,’” says Bill. “And then they screen an episode, and people go, ‘Oh, I would watch this show.’” Wait, did it really take him a year to realize this?

Bill isn’t sure what he’d like to call the show, but one idea he jokes about—calling it “Friends and Neighbors,” the ‘friends’ in a certain ’90s font. [People]

This got us thinking. There are lots of shows out there with names that don’t gel with the concept. After the jump, what we’d change their opening credits to say. Keep reading »

Quotable: Courteney Cox Is Glad She’s Off The Market

“What I love about this character is everything’s real. At one point she says that all the men out there are either broken, gay or getting younger girls. It would be really scary if I had to go back out there again. It’s hard. Getting older is hard anyway.”

Has Courteney Cox (Arquette) Dropped Her Married Name?

We’ve been seeing posters for Courteney Cox‘s new show, “Cougar Town,” all over New York, and on one particularly long subway ride, we stared at it so long that we started pondering her name. Wasn’t she Courteney Cox Arquette a few years ago? And isn’t she supposedly still happily married? We double-checked the credits in “Friends” (screengrab after the jump), and Courteney did go by all three names after she wed David Arquette, so what gives?

  1. Does ABC think no one will recognize her name, and they’re banking on her popularity to attract viewers?
  2. Was her full name too long for the posters?
  3. Has Courteney decided to give up her married name and stick to Courteney Cox professionally because it has a nicer ring to it?
  4. Or, are she and David prepping for a split?
