As much as we love dogs and cats, there are a whole lot of other animals out there — and they love celebrating Halloween, too. There’s a bunch of horses, rabbits, chickens, goats and ferrets who can’t wait to go trick-or-treating, and we’ve collected a few photos of some of the very best costumes.
Cats are such stubborn creatures. Case in point: These difficult jerks who refuse to even wear fur on Halloween. While their dog counterparts are yukking it up in bumblebee costumes and ridiculous hats, these cats are letting it all hang out — naked as jay birds, with their silly little lion cuts.
Sigh. So difficult.
Ever wonder what made peplums such an enduring trend while men’s powdered wigs fell by the wayside? Me too. That’s why I’m obsessing over a new compendium of the history of fashion and costume from the Smithsonian. Titled Fashion; The Definitive History Of Costume and Style, this massive volume covers sartorial trends from the ancient world to today. And it even includes an illustrated glossary of terms. Weighing in at 480 full-color pages, this is the guide for the fashion obsessed. So yes, I’ll be ordering one right now. [$31.17, Amazon]

Check out the rest of her batcrackers looks from years past, too!
Who does a pop diva turn to for new fashions after being outfitted by Thierry Mugler? If you’re Beyonce, then Victoria Beckham is the answer. Reportedly, Jay-Z’s little lady is so impressed with Posh’s fashion sense and newest collection, that she called her up and asked the singer turned designer to create new costumes for an upcoming concert. Now, during Beyonce’s last tour, there were enough body suits, glitter, and bling to make Liberace happy, but her look might be a bit toned down this time around given Posh’s design sensibility. Since she’s known for her form fitting dresses and long gowns, we’re assuming Beyonce’s going for a bit of a classier, uptown girl vibe. She is a married lady after all. [Mirror] Keep reading »
