A Fake Tan Gave Kelly Osbourne Confidence?

Kelly Osbourne has talked a lot about how “Dancing with the Stars” helped her gain confidence, but apparently getting a spray tan helped, too. As the newly appointed ambassador for self-esteem issues for tanning brand St. Tropez, Kelly talked about her struggle to feel good about herself in a press release:

“It really saddens me that so many young people suffer from low self-esteem and feel unhappy with their appearance. I think that at times we can be very hard on ourselves, which is certainly something I have experienced in my own life. I managed to overcome those negative thoughts by being healthy, thinking positively, and making small changes to my lifestyle that make me feel good about myself, such as taking more exercise and being true to yourself. ‘Dancing With The Stars’ and having my first ever St. Tropez spray tan was a huge confidence booster for me — it helped me to get fit and allowed me to look and feel beautiful from the outside, in.”

While it’s nice that a brand normally associated with the superficial would sponsor a campaign encouraging self-esteem, doesn’t it seem odd that Kelly, whose porcelain skin looks amazing, would have to claim tanning gave her confidence? However, there’s probably not a lot of money involved in being the poster child for pale skin. [Yahoo News U.K.] Keep reading »
