Late Night TV has been going through some serious shake ups. Leno is officially dunzo and this month, Conan and Jimmy Fallon launched their new talk shows. So, now that we’ve had a chance to sample the goods, who do we really want to take to bed with us? Find out in this round of Shun, Shag or Marry!

Ok, first things first we have to narrow down the Late Night pool a bit. Although we’d normally love to shun any dude who hosted “The Man Show,” after watching Jimmy Kimmel whimper on “The View” after his recent break up from Sarah Silverman , we just can’t kick a man when he’s down. Carson Daly just had a kid, new dad’s also not fair game. And let’s not even go there with grumpy grandpa Dave Letterman. So, that leave us with: Conan O’Brien, Jimmy Fallon, and Craig Ferguson!

Dealbreaker: The Comedian

It was a drizzly night, and I was walking down the street with Luke, my boyfriend at the time, to a comedy club where he was performing that night. He held an umbrella over my head and had his arm wrapped around my shoulder. I should have been giddy, but instead I felt apprehensive. We’d been dating for a few months, but this was the first time I was going to one of his shows.

“So, you’re not going to make fun of me, are you?” I asked, flashing back to Jerry Seinfeld and man hands and close talking. What if he called me out in public on some absurd quirk I never knew existed?

“No,” he said. “That’s a cheap laugh.” His material was more sophisticated, even a touch political, he said.

    Sexual Assault Is No Laughing Matter

    English “comedian” Johnny Vegas isn’t talented, but he is up to some serious funny business. Last Friday night, at one of his shows in London, after admitting he “had no material, and that he was there mostly to get laid,” Vegas allegedly singled out a teenage girl half his age in the audience. According to Maureen O’Hara’s Guardian U.K. article. despite the 18-year old’s trepidation, six members of the audience supposedly carried her on stage. O’Hara’s says that Vegas made the girl pretend to be dead so she would lie still, but she couldn’t stop giggling from nerves. Keep reading »

    Is Rape Ever Funny?

    Touchy subject, I know. Once a week I write a round-up for Jezebel, Gawker Media’s women’s site, about the misogyny that runs rampant on all of the web’s gossip blogs. A frequently targeted topic is the issue of rape. Some of the blogs I read regularly (mostly for Missdemeanors) make tongue-in-cheek, but still extremely offensive jokes about rape. Here’s a recent example from the blog What Would Tyler Durden Do?

    “I read somewhere that the reason dudes rape girls is because they think the girl is really pretty. It’s basically a compliment.”
