Sneak Peek: Alice + Olivia + MAC

These days, everyone has a collaboration. So now it’s Alice + Olivia designer Stacey Bendet Eisner’s turn to get into the collab game, as she’s decided to bring her aesthetics to the world of cosmetics. Stacey teamed up with MAC to create a full line of beauty products including nail polish, lip gloss, and pigments. If you’re a fan of bright colors and unafraid to show your love for bold hues, then this is a collaboration you’ll love. Purples, pinks, turquoise, and yellows dominate the color scheme, promising that you’ll most certainly be noticed while wearing Alice + Olivia designs. Sold? Prices range from $12-$19.50 and the collection will be available in stores later this summer on July 8. [WWD] Keep reading »

Target Announces New Designers, But Who Are They?

Tonight marks the launch of Zac Posen‘s 24-hour Target pop-up shop in New York City where fashion lovers will have the chance to purchase their favorite looks, but the store’s already looking forward at their two newest designers. We already introduced you to one of the upcoming creators, Gaby Basora, explaining how you’ll fall for her precious florals and rompers, but there’s a second designer to get to know, and she’ll provide perfect accessories for your wardrobe. Get Smithsonian-Style Gems On QVC This Fall

Here’s a fashion pairing we didn’t see coming. The Smithsonian Institution has licensed its amazing 375,000-specimen National Gem and Mineral Collection, which includes the famous Hope Diamond and Marie Antoinette earrings, to QVC. The TV shopping network’s jewelry line based on the National Museum of National History’s baubles will launch this fall, and curators will approve everything in the line, which will feature costume jewelry and semiprecious stones inspired by pieces in the museum. Forever 21 Joins The Collaboration Game

Forever 21 is already taking over with their affordable fashion and forays into beauty and home design, but now they’ve decided it’s time to bring a bit of designer experience into their stores. In an effort to match their fellow fast fashion brands like H&M and Urban Outfitters, Forever 21 signed a deal with designer Brian Lichtenberg to create graphic T-shirts. Now, we’ll reserve our comments about graphic T-shirts as a whole (ahem, Ed Hardy) until we see them, because Brian does in fact have celeb credibility. Interestingly enough, the brand decided to give Brian creative control over the same clothing item as the celebrities who design t-shirts for Forever 21. Now, will we see designers like Karl Lagerfeld and John Galliano sign up to create their own F21 collabs? [WWD] Keep reading »

Give Your Keds A Bit Of Sparkle

Already a regular designer for Payless, Alice & Olivia is upping their collaboration game, with a line of limited-edition sneakers for Keds. As a wearer of Keds during my elementary school years, I really appreciate a designer bringing a bit of color and style to the simple white tennis shoes. Stacy Bendet knows just how I feel, explaining, “I don’t think I removed Keds from my feet as a kid. I can’t even count how many pairs I had. We decided to do a collaboration that would bring a little Alice + Olivia fun to the 2010 Keds Champion.” Her fun comes in four colors — black, silver, pale pink and safari green. Come spring, you can dress up your feet in sparkly sneakers, which will be sold at select Neiman Marcus stores nationwide, at Alice & Olivia boutiques, or online, for $88. And it seems that Keds want to stay in the fashion game, as this is one more of many future collaborations. [WWD] Keep reading »

Liberty Of London To Team Up With Target

Now you might not have to travel all the way to London to get your hands on Liberty’s iconic and awesome floral prints. The British department store is now collaborating with Target to produce a line for spring. Due out in March, Elle UK reports that the theme is “flower power.” (Yay! Just what we want!) The collection is apparently slated to be massive with not only fashion, but home goods as well. We’re hoping there will be some bright silk scarves or punchy sundresses in there. Review: Sea Of Shoes For Urban Outfitters Holiday Collection

The second round of Jane Aldridge (the teenage Texan behind the blog Sea of Shoes) for Urban Outfitters footwear is out and we’re still, sadly, underwhelmed. The holiday collection is a step up from her last collaboration effort which, if you recall, was painfully unoriginal. This time around, at least, we’d actually be vaguely interested in wearing two of the three pairs and the general level of copycatting has fallen down a few notches. Let’s take a closer look, after the jump! Keep reading »

Sneak Preview: Rodarte for Target!

No, these are not Halloween costumes. They’re actually pieces from the upcoming and greatly anticipated Rodarte line for Target.

Yes, images are finally leaking of the new line, which editors have already previewed, but were banned from sharing with their readers.

Along with the sequined skull dress (far right), the ultra “it” designers have developed 55 other pieces, ranging from a lacy t-shirt, to a leopard jacket and dress, amazing stockings, and even more lace. We’re looking at a price range of $9.99-$79.99 for the collection, including knee-highs, dresses, and jackets. Mark your calendars people. December 20th is R-day, and you best believe every fashionista (professional, amateur or otherwise) is gonna be clamoring to scoop each and every piece up. [Racked]
