Calvin Klein Brings Back Iconic Cher Horowitz Dress … For $900

“Clueless” might just be the greatest movie of our time because it’s one of the most iconic pop culture references shared by both Generation Y and Generation X. And OK, yeah, I maybe wrote a 20-page term paper on the movie for my senior semiotics seminar, so it’s clear I’m obsessed. (Loser!) But, here is some of the most rad news I’ve heard in a while: Calvin Klein is remaking the dress Cher Horowitz wore on her date to the dance with Christian. The sad news: It costs $916. At the same time, this kind of makes me want to start a campaign for someone to reproduce the entire “Clueless” wardrobe. Keep reading »

“Clueless” Dynamic Duo Alicia Silverstone And Amy Heckerling Team Up For “Vamps”

After oodles of Dracula adaptations, “Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” “Twilight,” “True Blood,” “Daywalkers,” and “The Vampire’s Assistant,” I thought I’d let out a blood-curdling scream if I heard about another vampire movie. But amazingly there’s a new entry in the bloodsuckers category that I’m pretty excited about. The flick is called “Vamps,” and it starts filming in April. What’s so buzzworthy about it? It will be directed by Amy Heckerling, the woman behind “Clueless,” which, 15 years later, never fails to crack me up when I catch it on cable. As if (get it?) that weren’t enough, guess who’s starring? None other than Alicia Silverstone, whose comeback we’ve been anxiously awaiting for years. This will be the first time the dynamic duo has teamed up since their 1995 breakout. Keep reading »

How Your Cell Phone Can Help You Get Dressed In The Morning

Cell phones are getting smarter and smarter. With Apple’s genius, there’s an app for just about everything. But now Japan has decided that their cell phones are style savvy enough to help girls decide what to wear.

Mobile carrier KDDI recently launched EZ MyStyling, a Flash application that allows you to not only create looks and purchase outfits but also create your own model to appear in your likeness, meaning those terrible dressing room lights and long lines may soon be extinct. Test out the latest fashion trends from your phone while waiting for the bus, subway, or even sitting on your couch. Once you’ve dressed your model, move to the computer and suddenly she has the ability to strut down a runway. Online shopping, avatars, and daydreams of runway fame — could you ask for more?

Now, if someone could only create the perfect Cher Horowitz closet from Clueless …. Keep reading »

10 Reasons Why We Are So Ready For Alicia Silverstone’s Comeback

I cannot tell you how many times I’ve seen “Clueless.” I always adored Cher Horowitz’s valley girl awesomeness. And don’t even get me started on her computerized revolving closet. Obviously, I was elated to hear that Alicia Silverstone is back, at least on Broadway. The ’90s It girl is leaving her pink boa and Beverly Hills behind and hitting the stage in New York City, to play an editor’s girlfriend in the play “Time Stands Still.” I am so hoping that this is the beginning of her comeback. Let me count the reasons why. [The Huffington Post] Keep reading »

Be Like Cher From Clueless, Only With A Driver’s License

Simcha was a little bummed that the new Clueless video game doesn’t involve matching outfits, like that way-before-its-time computer program Cher uses in the movie. But you can upload photos of your clothes to sites like Weardrobe to keep track of all your stuff. Personally, I think this seems like a lot of work, but it could be useful when you need help remembering your favorite go-to outfits, like this morning, when I woke up an hour late and couldn’t figure out what to wear. Rather than stand in standing in front of my closet pondering apparel options, I could have visited my virtual closet and picked something that worked in the past. Technology can be so useful. Finally girl gamers will have some video games all to ourselves, without our boyfriends trying to swoop in and beat our high score! Read on for more details… Keep reading »
