Apparently, the world can’t get enough of pint-sized beauty queens and toddlers in tiaras because the Miss America pageant decided to expand its empire to include a clothing line for miniature divas! Where once stage moms dressed their mini-mes in poofy skirts and kitten heels from the local pageant store, now they can put them in French terry hoodies, purses, rugby-striped polo dresses, bathrobes, and ballet slippers — all for under $25 and preciously decorated with the requisite tiaras, sparkle, and stars. On the plus side, the line is vaguely age-appropriate in that there aren’t any midriff-baring shirts or skimpy skirts, and the makers claim the focus is on empowerment and positive self-esteem in young girls. Uh-huh. [WWD] Keep reading »
The “Harry Potter” actress, who was just recently unveiled as the new face of Burberry, must have caught the fashion bug on set. Word on the street is, she’s in the beginning stages of designing a clothing collection with a twist: all proceeds will go to charity. Yesterday we told you about porn star Jenna Jameson’s new perfume, “Heartbreaker,” and speculated about the scents other celebs might put out. But the question that is still weighing on my mind is, “Who in the hell would buy a fragrance concocted by a porn star?” (To be fair, I have a similar cluelessness about scents put out by trashy hos like Britney Spears and Paris Hilton.) But the fragrance industry isn’t the only mainstream endeavor that porn stars have tried to infiltrate. After the jump, five products (that are not sex toys or sex dolls) created by members of the adult entertainment industry. Keep reading »
Big girl bombshell Beth Ditto has already made us swoon with her songs and her sass, but now she’s going to conquer a business that has typically seemed a little small minded for a lady like her- fashion. Known for her outtasight onstage getups made of metallic spandex and her tasty Tracey Turnblad-esque print dresses, everyone has been taking notice of the lead singer of The Gossips’ bold personal style and sense of self- especially Lisa Marie Peacock. The head designer of Evans’, a plus size chain store in the UK, is reportedly canoodling with the saucy singer about rocking her look for the clothing line. Set to debut this June, it sounds like Beth’s got big plans to wrap the whole world in gold lamé! But even more than the news of her desire to dress us up in her love is the fact that she’s among a growing crop of cuties with a bootie getting noticed for all their assets. Empowering people of all sizes makes every lady look and feel her best. So, in honor of the women who are showing the range of size stardom can come in, here are the Frisky’s favorite Plus Size Pin Ups:

When it comes to female rock legends, Kim Gordon has a top ranking thanks to her distinctive performance style and badass voice. Musical abilities aside, she’s also about to become a fashion mogul with her newly-launched line, Mirror/Dash.
Inspired by Françoise Hardy, the collection is intended for ladies closer to Kim’s demo. “There’s a need for clothes for cool moms,” she told The New York Times. The first piece is a wool jacket with military details , a stand-up collar, and overlapping flaps — called “The Hardy Jacket”, it retails for $415. While the debut piece is a limited edition (only 50 made!), Mirror/Dash will release more styles throughout the year.
If this jacket is any indication of the awesomeness of the rest of the collection, we’re excited. Hurry up, Kim. We’re not getting any younger. [Mirror/Dash]
