This is Claudia Schiffer. At the age of 41, she’s reprising her famous role as Guess model and Hot Chick About Town. It’s not fair that Ms. Schiffer gets to look so good, is it? So we’re going to start a rumor that she siphons out her own blood and replaces it with the blood of children. So yes, that’s how that works.
Looking pulled together for a bit of errand-running isn’t difficult when you stick to a style uniform like supermodel Claudia Schiffer does. All you need are well-fitting jeans, a blazer, chic and comfortable boots, a colorful scarf, and a sweater. And if you’re feeling a little daring, mix patterns. You might not be able to tell from the photo above, but Claudia is wearing a gray and black cheetah-print sweater that provides the perfect neutral background for her floral scarf. After the jump, find an outfit like Claudia’s. Keep reading »
Ever wear the same thing a couple days in a row? Claudia Schiffer does. Last week, she was spotted wearing the same outfit on Nov. 3 and 4 as she took her children to school. Now, there are number of reasons why someone would choose to wear the same clothes for two days — for instance, if they have a new baby at home (like Claudia), they’re required to wear a uniform for work, or they’re doing the walk of shame. I’ll admit to wearing the same bottoms or a sweater twice in a row, but I’ve never donned the same complete outfit, unless I’ve spent the night out, was getting a ride home, and planned to shower and dress in a completely different look later. I just wasn’t raised to believe wearing the same outfit two days or more in a row was acceptable. But now that the very American trend of bathing everyday is shifting, could it be time to reconsider how often we change our clothes, too? I’m not entirely convinced. Do you ever wear the same outfit two days in a row? [StyleList] Keep reading »
Tongues are wagging after a photo of Claudia Schiffer made up as a black woman with dark foundation and an afro wig appeared on the cover of a German magazine this month. The image, along with six others of Schiffer dressed as various characters, including an Asian woman, were shot by renowned fashion designer and photographer Karl Lagerfeld for a Dom Perignon advertising campaign. Some argue this shot is tasteless and offensive given how few minority women are actually featured in mainstream magazines, as well as comparisons it draws with minstrel shows. Schiffer’s representatives claim the pictures have been taken out of context and were “designed to reflect different men’s fantasies.” What do you think: arty or offensive? In this eye-popping editorial for, ahem, Tush, transgender model Amanda Lepore gets dolled up as supermodels Naomi Campbell, Linda Evangelista, Karen Mulder, Nadja Auermann, and Claudia Schiffer. Don’t know who Lepore is? Well, welcome to it. She’s arguably the most famous transsexual in the world. She’s been the face of MAC, modeled for Heatherette, and she’s David LaChapelle’s muse. We like this editorial because it reveals modeling as the charade it is. You don’t have to have been born a girl to do the Evangelista. More shots after the jump. Keep reading »
