Dear Christina Aguilera,
Mariah here. You know me as multi-platinum zillion-selling recording artist Mariah Carey, but you can just call me Mimi. Me and a few of the S&M crew (that’s singing and movies crew, guys!) wanted to reach out to you because we heard you had a new movie coming out, called “Burlesque.”
First: Soooooo sorry about Lady Gaga stealing your whole kooky blonde lady steez — we heard you had to cancel a bunch of dates on your last tour because you just couldn’t get it together. No worries, mama.
But back to “Burlesque.” Keep reading »
I hate to prejudge, but hell, whatever, I am going to. “Burlesque” is Christina Aguilera’s feature film debut in a dramatic role and the first trailer is out. Co-starring Cher, the film tells the story of a “small-town girl” who “ventures to Los Angeles and finds her place in a neo-burlesque club run by a former dancer.” So, can Xtina act? Decide for yourself. Keep reading »
Christina Aguilera‘s latest album, Bionic, may not be selling, but that’s not stopping the songstress’s record label from churning out another music video. “You Lost Me” follows on the heels of “Not Myself Tonight,” the latter being a raunch-fest featuring Aguilera with a ball gag in her mouth. For the new video, she’s got pink-ish hair, baggy clothes, and the vibe is more “Beautiful” than “Dirrty.” It’s a breakup song, mostly, seemingly about a man who cheated. I’m not sure what this slow jam will do for her album sales, but at least she’s not prancing around in her underpants. Right? Keep reading »
This is Christina Aguilera arriving at “The Late Show” last night. This is my fashion report: no, No, NO. [NYC, 6/9/10] Keep reading »
There is a dangerous outbreak on the loose. Lucky for us, it only affects musicians. A rash of bands and performers have been canceling dates or entire tours for a variety of reasons, with scheduled dates in the U.S. suffering the most terminations. U2 has called off the North American leg of their tour to give lead singer Bono time to recover from emergency back surgery. Rock band Muse has axed and postponed several dates in the United States to allow the drummer of the band to be home for the birth of his child. When it comes to health and family, tour cancellations are understandable, especially when both bands are promising refunds and make up dates. A little less forgivable was Christina Aguilera erasing her entire North American tour because she didn’t feel ready and her people wanted the concerts to be closer to the release of her film “Burlesque.” This means if you want to see Christina get “Bionic” you will have until 2011.

Here’s 29 seconds from Rihanna‘s soon-to-be-released video for her new song, “Rockstar 101.” Alongside fashion-and-music peers Christina Aguilera and Lady Gaga, Rihanna is rocking the latex look and wears a brilliant scarlet wig. It’s a little bit Thierry Mugler, a little bit Rachael from “Blade Runner,” and not at all ’80s hair band. I think Rihanna is great, and she looks terrific, but I wouldn’t mind seeing her in a music video where she does something other than rub her hands all over herself. Agree? [Just Jared] Keep reading »
