Lesbian Ministers Make The Big Guy Proud on The Amazing Race

While we’ve complained in the past that reality TV has become a pulpit for pseudo-Christian hypocrites [Note: We have mad love for real Christians, but TV tends to attract the opportunistic and greedy do-as-I-say-not-as-I-do-types.], we were thrilled to see a pair of married lesbian ministers on this season of the Amazing Race. Though Kate Lewis and Pat Hendrickson were eliminated from the race on last night’s episode, we’re glad that they had enough time to offer this nugget of wisdom, which has thus far eluded all the other highly religious competitors in seasons prior: “We harbor no illusions that God wants us to win the Amazing Race.” Dang it, with them gone, we’re stuck rooting for the crazy Goth couple!
