Quotable: About Those Shoes You’re Wearing …

“I prefer shoes that undress to shoes that dress. A successful shoe is a shoe that accentuates nudity. The woman remains entirely nude when she wears those shoes. The shoe becomes the privilege of nudity … If you are very chic you might not need an extra drop of chicness, so you go for the sexy side and buy my shoes because they are … tarty. We get very smart women coming in and buying a pair to feel a little more sluttish. And then, thank God, we also get the hookers coming in the store, who buy my shoes because they are superchic. You see, whatever you have, if you add a drop of the opposite, then it just becomes a little more sexy.”

Quotable: Christian Louboutin’s Goal Is For You To Kick His Shoes Off

“I prefer shoes that undress to shoes that dress. A successful shoe is a shoe that accentuates nudity.”

– Shoe designer Christian Louboutin, who I am pretty sure accomplishes his goal of undressing the wearer by making the footwear so painful, you can’t stand to keep them on! Keep reading »

Lourdes In Louboutins: At What Age Should Girls Start Wearing Designer?

It was inevitable that Madonna‘s eldest, Lourdes Ciccone Leon, would be a style icon by the time she became a teenager. Well, now we know what’s in the closet of the 13-year-old celebuspawn, thanks to the tell-tale red soles of Christian Louboutin shoes, which tend to retail at about $600 per pair. Here, Lourdes was recently spotted wearing a pair of these must-have studded flats. Of course, the children of celebrities are naturally predisposed to be well-dressed in luxury goods, and they’re some damn lucky kids. But for the rest of the “normal” world, at what age should girls be allowed to wear high-end designer labels? It seems like more and more, there’s a growing culture of teens and pre-teens who are just really, really well-dressed. Honestly, it does make us a little jealous. When we were 13 years old, we would have given anything to live in Cher Horowitz’s closet. How old were you when you started wearing more high-end goods? At what age is it appropriate (if any) for the younger set to start sporting Louboutins, Chanel purses, or whatever happens to be hot these days on Shopbop? [Style Frizz] Keep reading »

Some Designers Really Hate Fat Women (Like Barbie!)

It’s all about change in the fashion world right now — designers are livestreaming their runway shows (or trying anyway), shoppers can snap up fall Chloe bags on their iPhones, and magazines like Glamour and Marie Claire are making an effort to include plus-size women in their formerly stick-thin pages. But not everyone is down with the plan, and design legends Karl Lagerfeld and Christian Louboutin seem to be the most conscientious objectors, today anyway. Keep reading »

Carrie Bradshaw Gives Up Her Manolos!

Watch out Manolo Blahnik. You’ve been put back on the shelf.

While Carrie Bradshaw originally gave the heels their fame with her shoe obsession and fashion sense, it seem she’s moved on. In the upcoming “Sex and the City” sequel, Sarah Jessica Parker’s character has given up fawning over Manolos in favor of red soles from Christian Louboutin. Is this the result of too much complaining over unwanted fame from Mr. Blahnik? Either way, the “SATC”-obsessed are sure to attach their heel addiction to the iconic Louboutins just as fast as they did to those Manolos.

You Gotta Watch This Totally Psycho Christian Louboutin Video

God we love the odd fashion video. Usually, they’re pretty artsy and avant-garde, but somehow we missed the video that everyone’s favorite shoe designer made for the opening of his new Rodeo Drive store earlier this month. It’s a pretty straightforward (not to mention totally entertaining) take on Hitchcock’s “Psycho,” ahem, until it turns into something totally unexpected involving singer Mika. And we don’t wanna ruin anything, but you already may have guessed the murder weapon in this version. [Chic Report] Keep reading »

Christian Louboutin Wants To Get You Drunk

Christian Louboutin sure knows his customer. First he gave women bitchy red-soled stilettos that practically beg to be taken out for a night on the town. Now he’s providing the booze. Last night, the designer launched his very own champagne in collaboration with Piper-Heidsieck, at, according to his press agent anyway, “an exclusive private press viewing of a scandalous ritual which, having thrived in the 19th century, became emblematic of a luxurious era when Europe was living life to the fullest.” Whatever that means. It’s well known that Loubs loves to swing on the trapeze, but we’re pretty sure that’s not what they’re referring to, and we were too busy to attend, sniff. Next, he’s opening up a dating service. (Just kidding on that last one, but a girl can dream.) Keep reading »

Woman Offers Reward For Missing Christian Louboutin Heel

A woman in England is handing out fliers, questioning residents, putting up “lost” posters, and looking high and low in a desperate search for her precious missing…leopard print pump. That’s right, shoe-addict Louise Bawn lost one of her Christian Louboutin heels after a long night out and is so distraught that she launched an all-out hunt for her lost left shoe. She was gifted the heels by her husband and it was only the second time she wore them. So this psychotic Cinderella isn’t stopping at normal search methods. Come on, these are Louboutins! Bawn is also offering a reward for the person who returns the heel to her, since when she called Louboutin stores to see if they still make the shoe, she discovered that it has been discontinued. For now, Bawn’s right shoe sits cold and alone. The other one is probably sitting in the sewer, somewhere. At least now Bawn can up her home décor and use the right heel as a cool bookend? That way she’ll look fashionably creative and not like she belongs in the loony bin. [Daily Mail]

Would You Pay $800 For Christian Louboutin Sneakers?

Christian Louboutin is known for his uber-sexy, red-soled heels, but now he’s venturing into the world of sneakers — at least he’s staying true to his leopard print fixation. No word on where to buy these or how much they cost, but the pumps sell for an average of $800 at fine department stores and boutiques, so we’re guessing these would be comparably priced. Would you fork over that kind of money for these kicks? [Fashion Indie] Keep reading »

Random Email From A Polite Craigslist Perv

I recently posted an ad on Craiglist selling a beautiful, twice-worn pair of Christian Louboutin pumps that my ex gave me as a gift. (I’m selling them because they pinch my feet and, frankly, are just a reminder of our failed relationship, where he was willing to shell out the big bucks, but not emotional availability.) Check out one of the responses I received, after the jump… Keep reading »
