I didn’t want to believe it at first, but Chris Brown has a problem controlling his temper. Duh, right? But I was actually trying to give him the benefit of the doubt — you know, innocent until proven guilty — until the complete true story was revealed. We’ve heard a lot of ludicrous rumors surrounding the altercation between Brown and Rihanna, but here’s one that is believable: Brown’s newly-hired spin doctor is trying to improve the singer’s image by enrolling him in anger management classes. According to a New York Daily News source, he isn’t required by law to attend the classes, “but he believes it will make him look better to the public, and he wants to try to get in a few classes before March 5.” He is required to appear in court on that date. Do you think anger management is PR-ese for learning how to keep your violent hands to yourself? Do you think taking these classes is an admission of guilt? We’ve also heard rumors about Rihanna’s hot temper, should she take anger management classes, too? [The Envelope] Keep reading »
I don’t even know what to say about this photo, leaked by someone within the LAPD (sparking an internal investigation) and obtained by TMZ. Sickening.
After thinking about it, and seeing the first comment in the post, I decided to put the full image after the jump. My rationale is that this photo has been leaked and it’s now everywhere, from Perez Hilton to the cover of my morning newspaper. It’s a story we’ve been covering on the site, and while it certainly brings up issues about privacy, Rihanna is also a public figure, one many women and girls look up to. Seeing it is going to be unavoidable, so I’ve decided to give Frisky readers a forum to talk about it, including whether the leaking/posting of this photo upsets you. Keep reading »
He speaks! Alleged Rihanna beater, Chris Brown, finally spoke out this weekend on allegations that he assaulted his pop star (ex?) girlfriend, releasing the following statement:
“Words cannot begin to express how sorry and saddened I am over what transpired. I am seeking the counseling of my pastor, my mother and other loved ones and I am committed, with God’s help, to emerging a better person.
Much of what has been speculated or reported on blogs and/or reported in the media is wrong. While I would like to be able to talk about this more, until the legal issues are resolved, this is all I can say except that I have not written any messages or made any posts to Facebook, on blogs or any place else.
Those posts or writings under my name are frauds.”
Okay, let me see if I’ve got this right. Chris is remorseful for “events that transpired,” so remorseful, in fact, that he needs God’s help, but much of what the media has reported about those events is “wrong.” It’s likely that the rumors that Rihanna gave Chris herpes or vice versa are total crap, but what about the alleged assault itself? Is that wrong too? Keep reading »
More rumors surround the Chris Brown/Rihanna incident! According to The Sun, the LAPD is looking into whether there had been a history of violence between Brown and Rihanna, and one of the incidents they’re checking out is when RiRi suddenly started sporting an eyepatch, saying she had scratched her cornea. The singer wore a silver patch when she performed at the American Music Awards last year, and, at the time, we dubbed it an “injury accessory,” not thinking it could have been related to an actual injury. So, is it possible Rihanna was covering up a black eye? Not really — she took off the patch halfway through her performance and walked the red carpet without it (above right). What’s more likely is that the LAPD just doesn’t understand her over-the-top style. After the jump, watch the video of her American Music Awards performance to see for yourself.
