Chris Brown Un-Invited From “Good Morning America” Performance

Splash News

“Good Morning America” has finally come to their senses had a change of heart and realized booting boy-kisser Adam Lambert off their show while booking an appearance by girlfriend-beater Chris Brown wasn’t a smart move. After admitting they received tons of complaints for this switcheroo (including from Frisky readers!), this weekend ABC un-invited Brown from performing on “GMA.” Instead ABC will air an interview with Robin Roberts about Brown’s abusive relationship with Rihanna, which was allegedly taped this weekend. We’ll all be treated to this second helping of pseudo-apologetic Brown-hooey during the primetime program “20/20” on December 11. Adam Lambert, on the other hand, is still persona non grata. From “I Kissed A Boy” To “I Hit A Girl”

Good Morning America Books Chris Brown After Canceling Adam Lambert

Well this is lovely. Days after canceling Adam Lambert’s performance on “Good Morning America”—after the “American Idol” runner-up ZOMGkissedaboy! on the American Music Awards—ABC booked Chris Brown for an interview and performance on the morning show. Feel free to lose your s**t about the wiggity wack hypocrisy of this in the comments! [OK!]

Hints Of Chris Brown On Rihanna’s Rated R

Rihanna Rated R Album Cover

Rihanna has been in the news a lot over the past year, thanks to the Chris Brown assault back in February and, finally, yesterday’s release of Rated R, her first new album in two years. Some of the lyrics on the record seem to tie these two big events together. Let’s take a look ...

Chris Brown Attempts To Work Out Rihanna Issues In Music Video

Can’t work out your relationship issues in a court of law? Try making a music video. At least that’s how singer Chris Brown appears to be attempting to deal with his problems with ex Rihanna. After falling from grace for beating up the pop star and failing to score public forgiveness, Brown has turned his latest music video, “Crawl,” into a bit of pretend therapy. Singer Cassie plays the Rihanna role as Brown seeks to woo her back—thankfully, to no avail. I don’t think Rihanna’s going to be crawling back to that kind of love anytime soon. Mostly, he just comes across as sad and pathetic. [Videos.antville.org]

Chris Brown Says He’ll Never Put His Hands On A Woman Again

Chris Brown sat down with Sway at MTV to discuss his assault of Rihanna on Feb. 8. He tries to portray himself as a changed man who is learning from his actions, even going as far as to say that he knows for certain he’ll never assault another woman and enjoys learning to control his anger in his domestic violence classes. But, I’m sorry to say, he never seems truly remorseful, except when discussing how this has negatively affected his career. He’s hardly humble, saying that his hecklers are just being “ignorant.” And he only pays lip service to the fact that healthy relationships aren’t violent. Towards the end, I got the feeling that Chris still has hopes he and Rihanna will get back together.

You can watch parts two and three of the interview here.

Star Couplings: Chris Brown Says The Assault Should Be Between Us

Chris Bronw Says The Assault Should Be Between Us
  • Chris Brown says the assault should stay between him and Rihanna. [Us Weekly]—Yeah, he wouldn’t be singing that tune if he didn’t have so much to lose by her speaking out.
  • Chelsy Davy tried to sit apart from Prince Harry at a rugby match over the weekend, but simply couldn’t. She ended up throwing the guy between them out of his seat. [Dlisted]—That’s not how you keep a rekindled romance on the down low.
  • Lamar Odom wants Khloe Kardashian pregnant “soon.” [PopEater]—Why? So he can replace his other children that she reportedly hasn’t met yet?

Chris Brown’s Camp Claims Rihanna Lied On “GMA”

Chris Brown's Camp Claims Rihanna Lied On GMA

Chris Brown‘s camp, i.e. minuscule people we’ve never heard of, like dancers and friends, have responded to Rihanna‘s interview on “Good Morning America” yesterday and today, and not surprisingly, they claim she’s to blame for the assault. They say she lied during the interview and was a different person and that this is a ploy for her to sell more albums. Check out the ridiculous claims after the jump.

Rihanna Says She Couldn’t “Be Responsible For Going Back” To Chris Brown

The first part of Diane Sawyer’s interview with Rihanna aired on “Good Morning America” today and her admissions about the abuse she suffered at the hands of ex-boyfriend Chris Brown were far beyond what she acknowledged in her interview with this month’s Glamour. Tearing up at one point, Rihanna explained to Sawyer that after the abuse—one out of “eight or nine” separate times he hit her—became public knowledge she felt ashamed that everyone now knew the “type of person” she was in love with. “I stayed. I even went back after he beat me, which was wrong,” she said. “But again ... I’m a human being and people put me on a very unrealistic pedestal. And all these expectations, I’m not perfect.” Still, it was those expectations that eventually motivated her to leave.

Rihanna Talks To Glamour About Chris Brown Assault

Rihanna talks about Chris Brown assault

Rihanna is finally opening up about the physical abuse she suffered by ex-boyfriend Chris Brown in an interview with Glamour magazine. They interviewed Rihanna for their annual Women Of The Year issue, ostensibly to speak up for domestic violence survivors, which is a brave move for her to make. But honestly? Rihanna’s statement is of the “no, duh” variety and sounds like it was written/watered down by PR folks and lawyers.

WTF Is Up With Chris Brown’s New Album Cover?

Chris Brown Album Cover For Graffiti

If Chris Brown was hoping for a career comeback after he beat the crap out of his ex-girlfriend Rihanna, the hot mess that is the just-revealed art for his upcoming album, Graffiti, is not going to help. Why is he holding a guitar? He doesn’t play! Is he on a spaceship? Is that a moon? Why are his pants so tight? Who are those creatures in the bottom corner? And why is he going to mace them with a can of spray paint? PopEater goes into further detail about the five awesomely ridiculous things about it. Somewhere, Adam Lambert is feeling really great right now. [PopEater]

Rihanna To Tell Her Side Of The Chris Brown Assault Story

On Thursday’s “Good Morning America” at 7 a.m., Rihanna will publicly break her silence and tell what went down in Chris Brown‘s Lamborghini the night he assaulted her. She’ll follow up that appearance with an interview on “20/20” on Friday at 10 p.m. [Celeb Wohoo]

I wouldn’t get too excited about this interview because Rihanna probably won’t reveal much—she’s had nine months to perfect the PR coaching she was no doubt given. But, we’ll be watching anyway, to find out whether this was an isolated incident or if there was a pattern of physical or emotional abuse before the assault.

Chris Brown Releases “I Can Transform Ya”

Chris Brown has released his first single since assaulting Rihanna in February. “I Can Transform Ya” features Lil Wayne and Swizz Beats, who produced the track. You can hear it in the video above, but skip to 2:17 if you don’t want to hear Chris try to figure out how to work his computer. “I Can Transform Ya” sounds like the man’s version of Beyonce‘s “Upgrade U” on B’Day. Even though his version is rather late—“Upgrade U” was released in 2006—I don’t think this should have been his first release after the assault. Each time the hook plays, I think about how he transformed Rihanna’s face. Let us know what you think about the single in the comments.

Chris Brown Starts Community Labor

Chris Brown Starts Community Service

I know what you’re thinking—there’s a typo in the headline and that it should be “Chris Brown Starts Community Service.” But you’re wrong—Brown’s judge specifically sentenced him to hard “labor,” and his supervising police chief has grand plans for him to remove graffiti, pick up trash, wash cars, and maintain grounds. Chris whacking weeds has already drawn lots of media and fans who want to watch (thanks for the boring videos, guys?), so he had to personally pay for extra guards to protect him. Hopefully after six months worth of hard labor, Chris will think twice before laying a hand on a lady. Also, someone make him put a shirt on. [LA Times]

Ever since the photos of a post-Chris-Brown-beatdown, bruised-and-battered Rihanna were leaked and subsequently appeared on TMZ, there’s been an ongoing investigation into who leaked the pics to the celebrity gossip website. The Enterprise Report reveals the Los Angeles Police Department may be preparing to finger the perpetrator. More—and the surprising twist to the story—after the jump.

Chris Brown Thinks Oprah Was Harsh On Him

Chris Brown hurt by Oprah

Boo hoo. Chris Brown is upset that, soon after the night when he pummeled Rihanna, Oprah did an episode of her show on domestic violence and dedicated it “to all the Rihannas of the world.” During the episode, Oprah said, “I’ve said before love doesn’t hurt, and if a man hits you once, he will hit you again.”

Chris thinks this was harsh. “I commend Oprah on being like, ‘This is a problem,’ but it was a slap in my face,” he told People. “I did a lot of stuff for her, like going to Africa and performing for her school. She could’ve been more helpful, like, ‘OK, I’m going to help both of these people out.’”

Star Couplings: Chris Brown Says He Wasn’t Taught How To Love Rihanna

Chris Brown Says He Wasn't Taught How To Love Rihanna
  • Chris Brown says no one taught him and Rihanna to love each other. He says he wasn’t equipped to go through the rough patches. [E! Online]—That could be a valid argument, not excuse, for his behavior, but I doubt he came up with it all by himself.
  • Lisa Loeb is pregnant with her husband, Roey Hershkovitz. [Dlisted]—Good for them. This is the first I’ve heard about her since I watched her really boring reality show a few years back.
  • David Beckham got some special ink, ten roses around his arm, to commemorate his 10th wedding anniversary with Victoria Beckham. [People]—These two are still so much in love.

Chris Brown “Doesn’t Remember” Hitting Rihanna

Earlier this month Chris Brown taped an interview with Larry King that’s set to air this Wednesday. In an exclusive preview, Brown says he “doesn’t remember” hitting Rihanna, that’s not who “I pride myself on being,” and that he’s “in shock.” Uh-huh.

Chris Brown Really, Seriously Swears He’s A Changed Man

Go figure. Chris Brown‘s new single, “Changed Man,” is dedicated to Rihanna, and it certainly sounds like a plea to get her back, no? Some sample lyrics for your perusal: “I remember your touch/ God, I miss you so much/ Please believe me baby I’m sorry/ All of this money and fame/ Could never amount to every morning waking up to your face/ I’ll make it up to you/ I’ll show the world I’m a changed man/ Can we love, Can we love, Can we love again.” We’re hoping this doesn’t sway Rihanna. These sentiments seem kind of canned, plus he doesn’t sound that tortured singing.

Chris Brown Goes Clubbing After His Sentencing

Chris Brown in court and out

Not that he’s doing anything right, but a few hours after Chris Brown was sentenced for assaulting Rihanna, he celebrated by heading to a Los Angeles club where he jumped up on a booth and did an impromptu performance of Michael Jackson’s “Dirty Diana.” One club goer said, “He not only sang, but danced his ass off. He didn’t seem to care at all that everyone was watching him. He was in a totally good mood, just hanging out with his buddies.” [Contact Music]

Well, of course he was in a good mood—he got out of this mess with no jail time, just 1,400 hours of community service and domestic violence classes. We think it was kinda tacky to make a scene after getting off easy for committing a heinous crime, but plenty of stars have found other ways to act inappropriately after escaping the clutches of the law.
