These feisty gals are now 500 meters down the Chilfon del Diablo mine, while 100 others are protesting above-ground. [BBC]
  • Facebook was hacked by a possibly sexist hacker (or maybe just a prankster with an odd sense of humor), who mostly shut down the profiles of female users. [Los Angeles Times]

When Chilean miner Yonni Barrios (aka, miner #21 or Johnny Barrios) emerged from a hole in the ground where he has been living for the past two months, his wife was not there to meet him. Marta Salinas told the reporters she would neither be attending the rescue, nor continuing her marriage, after she learned a woman — who showed up to Yonni’s vigils crying and calling out his name — was actually his lover. Instead, the Tiger Woods of the Chilean miner set breathed his first breath of fresh air with his mistress Susana Valenzuela at his side, who kissed him and sobbed. Apparently, hundreds of teenagers gather in public parks in Chile to take part in orgies, called ponceo, where they anonymously get and give oral sex. (They refer to themselves as “Pokemones.”) Newsweek.com reports that sociologists have labeled the Pokemones an “urban tribe,” a term that has also been applied to hippies, punks, and goths, but this particular movement has nothing to do with political statements.
