Rachel McAdams’ Parents Spoiled Her Love Life

“[My parents are] still together and still in love. I’m very blessed that way. I had a great example of love in front of me, and that’s probably what makes me such a romantic, because I’ve seen it firsthand … You grow up and you assume that everyone is like that, and you quickly realize that they’re not, and then you have those days when you wonder if you’re going to find it for yourself. It’s such a hard thing to find. I think it was more that realization that rocked me.”

Rachel McAdams talks love and marriage in the latest issue of Elle. I can relate to Rachel’s sentiment. My parents and grandparents are all still married and in love. It seems like no one does that anymore or even believes in it. I know I am doubtful at times and that makes me sad. But what is even sadder is the realization that not many other people are even striving for that. I often feel like I have to lower my expectations just to give love a shot. Damn you, happily married parents! [Celebitchy] Keep reading »

Steven Tyler Loves Borrowing Clothes From Liv’s Closet

“My dad wears girls’ clothes — it’s so funny. Sometimes I see him and I’m like, ‘Nice shirt!,’ because it’s from my closet… I think he’s really handsome. I feel really proud of him. I think he’s a really amazing, magical man and all those funny things that he says that people find so strange, my whole life I’ve been hearing them and they make me laugh. And I speak his language; I understand what he’s talking about.”

Liv Tyler talks about her papa Steven Tyler and his penchant for raiding her closet. I plan to make a new drinking game out of watching “American Idol” and guessing the items of clothing that Steven is wearing that are actually Liv’s. [People] Keep reading »

Katy Perry’s Mom Didn’t Know How To Feel About “I Kissed A Girl”

“I recognized the psalmist gift in her performance. Yet she sang out, ‘I kissed a girl, and I liked it,’ while thousands joined her. One part of my heart soared . . . the other part broke for the thousands of hungry souls being fed something that didn’t nourish their spirit, but fed their flesh.”

Katy Perry‘s mom, preacher Mary Perry Hudson, explains how she felt seeing her daughter perform her first hit single, “I Kissed a Girl.” This is a snippet from the memoir proposal Mary’s been shopping around to publishers which she says will not be “Christian proselytizing or a Katy Perry tell-all.” [NY Post]

After the jump, read how Mary felt about seeing her daughter in a skimpy costume for the first time. Keep reading »

Jake Gyllenhaal Pimps Out His Mom

Jake Gyllenhaal went on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” last night to chat about his new flick, “Source Code,” and ended up talking about everything but. He discussed turning 30 and the rumors that he’s gay. But the best part of the interview was when he talked about his mama. “My mom is a pretty badass chick,” he said. “My mother is just recently single. So if there are any awesome guys around her age that are awesome, too, maybe you should look my mom up.” Any takers? [PopWrap] Keep reading »

Billy Ray Cyrus Is Worried About Miley, Regrets “Hannah Montana”

“I’m scared for her. She’s got a lot of people around her that’s putting her in a great deal of danger. I know she’s 18, but I still feel like as her daddy I’d like to try to help. Take care of her just a little bit, to at least get her out of danger. I want to get her sheltered from the storm. Stop the insanity just for a minute. When you go through what she’s been through, it takes a beating on you. … I’ll tell you right now—the damn show ["Hannah Montana"] destroyed my family. I hate to say it, but yes, I’d take it back in a second. For my family to be here and just be everybody okay, safe and sound and happy and normal, would have been fantastic. Heck, yeah. I’d erase it all in a second if I could.”

Billy Ray Cyrus pulls a Michael Lohan in the latest issue of GQ, talking extensively about how worried he is about his daughter, Miley Cyrus. I’m just still not sure what’s to gain by making these kinds of concerns public. Might I suggest talking to Miley over lunch instead? [GQ] Keep reading »

Don’t Tell Ryan Gosling’s Mom That Santa Isn’t Real

“My mother still believes in Santa Claus. We tried to break it to her once, but she wasn’t having it. There are very few believers in the world, but my mother is one of them. I don’t know if she’d admit that this is why she does it, but it’s just more fun to believe in Santa than not to.”

Ryan Gosling tells GQ about his date to the Oscars in 2007, his mom. Awwww. [People] Keep reading »
