Billy Ray Cyrus Is Worried About Miley, Regrets “Hannah Montana”

“I’m scared for her. She’s got a lot of people around her that’s putting her in a great deal of danger. I know she’s 18, but I still feel like as her daddy I’d like to try to help. Take care of her just a little bit, to at least get her out of danger. I want to get her sheltered from the storm. Stop the insanity just for a minute. When you go through what she’s been through, it takes a beating on you. … I’ll tell you right now—the damn show ["Hannah Montana"] destroyed my family. I hate to say it, but yes, I’d take it back in a second. For my family to be here and just be everybody okay, safe and sound and happy and normal, would have been fantastic. Heck, yeah. I’d erase it all in a second if I could.”

Billy Ray Cyrus pulls a Michael Lohan in the latest issue of GQ, talking extensively about how worried he is about his daughter, Miley Cyrus. I’m just still not sure what’s to gain by making these kinds of concerns public. Might I suggest talking to Miley over lunch instead? [GQ] Keep reading »

Don’t Tell Ryan Gosling’s Mom That Santa Isn’t Real

“My mother still believes in Santa Claus. We tried to break it to her once, but she wasn’t having it. There are very few believers in the world, but my mother is one of them. I don’t know if she’d admit that this is why she does it, but it’s just more fun to believe in Santa than not to.”

Ryan Gosling tells GQ about his date to the Oscars in 2007, his mom. Awwww. [People] Keep reading »

Momagers Who’ve Made Strange Business Decisions For Their Kids

It looks like Dina Lohan has no intention of laying low in the momager game, despite the fact that her daughter Lindsay is back in rehab. Fortunately for Dina, there are two more kids to screw up! And while Ali has already had some time in the spotlight, it’s her son Michael Lohan Jr. who will be starring in “Growing Defiant,” which will be produced by Dina’s production company (huh?), Defiant Pictures. The movie takes place in Long Island and follows a group of heroin-addicted kids. Yes, that’s right. Dina has hired her own son to pretend to be on heroin in the movie she’s making. Face, meet palm. [TMZ]

If my mom handled my career, I would be a pregnant baker/poet living in a cabin in Minnesota. Wait, that sounds awesome. But a lot of momagers haven’t made the best decisions for their kids. We’ve rounded up a few classics. Keep reading »

6 Incredibly Bad Moments In Celebrity Parenting

I’m not sure if one would accuse any of “The Real Housewives of Orange County” (or any other city) of being amazing parents, but Alexis Bellino might have taken the cake. At a 4th of July party, Alexis and her husband, Jim, left a stroller containing their two toddlers unattended while they were “doing something” and it rolled into the pool. Toddlers and all. Security guards say that the lifeguard pulled out the stroller, which still contained one child and Alexis’ husband dove in to save the other kid. Both tots were magically and thankfully fine. Afterward, Jim claimed, “There was no lifeguard needed or involved,” as if that changes anything at all. [TMZ]

Seriously, you guys have to stop laughing. Those kids are stuck with those parents forever! And judging by this kind of parenting, forever might be relative. We rounded up a few of the worst celebrity parents — maybe their kids can start a support group? Keep reading »

Michael Lohan Reaches New Lows Of Jerkery Releasing Recorded Phone Calls With Lindsay

lindsay lohan and michael lohan photo

Michael Lohan is so freaking douchey that he makes me wish every day were Father’s Day so I can tell my own dad how amazing he is. After sounding off in the press about Lindsay‘s love life and saying that she has a serious prescription drug problem, Michael has stooped to a new low, releasing embarrassing phone conversations to Radar Online. Hear the first call here—it’s supposedly Lindsay crying to him, though his part of the conversation is conveniently missing and it doesn’t even sound like her. Listen to the second tape, allegedly of Dina talking to Michael about Lindsay. Even worse—Michael’s calling himself a saint for doing this, claiming that this is about publicly pressuring her to go to rehab. Ever since these tapes were released, Lindsay and her dad have been having a public war of words. Keep reading »

Amy Winehouse’s Dad Makes A Record. Other Fame-Hungry Celebrity Parents.

It makes sense to me when children follow in their parent’s footsteps, but not so much when it’s the other way around. Amy Winehouse‘s dad, Mitch (pictured at left), is a taxi driver. But he’s started recording an album of Frank Sinatra covers, along with a sprinkling of his own songs. A source at The Sun says, “Mitch has been working on [the album] for a while now. Amy always credits her dad with getting her into singing. He loves music. He has a good voice and wants a go at turning professional.” [Contact Music]

So he thinks fame is hereditary? Here’s a round-up of other parents who’ve grabbed at their kiddie’s coat strings, thinking that because they passed on such incredible genes, they should have a shot at fame, too. Keep reading »
