Looks like there might be trouble in Bel Air paradise. In Touch is reporting that Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith are separating after 13 years of marriage and two kids together. For the record, neither of their reps have confirmed the story but In Touch says that the news comes from an insider. I’m crossing my fingers that it isn’t true because—TMI about their sex life aside—I like these two together. I like that they met when Jada auditioned for “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” back in the day, but didn’t actually get together until years later. If they’ve split, it would sure be ironic considering this quote from Will in 2008. “What I found is divorce just can’t be an option. It’s really that simple. And I think that’s the problem with L.A. – there are so many options. So a huge part of the success for [Jada] and I is that we just removed the other options.” Stay tuned for more. We were surprised when Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony announced their split on July 15th. We were almost equally surprised when we learned that Marc had a “Jennifer” tattoo on his wrist. Not that it’s such a crazy thing to do, if tattoos are your thing, but we just never noticed the ink. And now we never will. Anthony had covered it up — and quickly, too. The pictures of his new cover-up tattoo are a bit fuzzy and partially obscured by his sleeve, but you can definitely make out that it does not say “Jennifer” anymore. It kind of makes us wonder if things were as amicable as their PR people would like us to believe. We understand wanting to get your ex’s name removed from your body, but within two weeks? “Sometimes we don’t realize that we are compromising ourselves. To understand that a person is not good for you, or that that person is not treating you in the right way, or that he is not doing the right thing for himself—if I stay, then I am not doing the right thing for me. I love myself enough to walk away from that now … I will always respect Marc as a singer and performer. We work great together, and he was always very supportive. Together we could make magic—and we did. He will always hold a special place in my heart as the father of my children.”
—Jennifer Lopez grants Vanity Fair her first interview since splitting with Marc Anthony, and sort-of-kind-of explains what stopped working for her. In the article, she also opens up about her breakup with Ben Affleck. And Diddy. And her first two husbands. But she swears she isn’t getting skeptical about love. More on that, after the jump. “Mr. Marley and I have a long and complex history about which MANY inaccuracies have been reported since the beginning. Contrary to the numerous reports, Mr. Marley did not abandon me while pregnant with his child. We have had long periods of separation over the years but our five children together remain a joy to both of us. Thank you for your concern and I appreciate all of the well wishes regarding the birth of my new son.”
—Lauryn Hill could be talking to us in this message she posted on her website, regarding the birth of her son this week and the rumors that Rohan Marley left her while she was pregnant. Apparently, they parted before the pregnancy? Sorry we got it wrong, Lauryn. We hope you and your babY are doing very well. And we hope you give birth to a new album soon, too! Talk about poorly timed. On a new clip from the upcoming season of “LA Ink,” Kat Von D has a special surprise for her fiance, Jesse James. It’s a tattoo for him. And no, it’s not his initials or even his name. It’s a big old portrait. Of his fifth grade yearbook photo. “You’re crazy!” he exclaims. (Which, yes, she is.) “I love it — I love you.” Of course, the couple is now dunzo—Kat tweeted on Monday that they have broken up. Which had TMZ wondering—is she now regretting that tattoo?
But Kat swears she isn’t. Keep reading »
It appears that Tea Leoni and David Duchovny will soon be a folder in the Ex Files. (Bad pun. Sorry, had to.) After 14 years of marriage, the two have separated. Again. You’ll probably remember that they also split in 2008 when it came to light that David suffered from sex addiction. But after he went to rehab, they got back together and renewed their vows in 2009. Apparently, it didn’t last.
I love these two together, so am sad about this split. But since there’s no use crying over spilled milk, here, who we think David should date next. Keep reading »
“I get into the good stuff about my marriage because people have only gotten the rotten stuff. There was a beautiful love story between us … I went through a lot and I get asked a lot of questions about that time in my life so I figured that I would share my story and, hopefully, anyone that is dealing with challenges will know that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. We had one of the worst divorces so if we get into a good place, that’s great.”
—Denise Richards shares with reporters what they can expect in her memoir, The Real Girl Next Door, which will be released in late July. Apparently, anyone expecting a smear of Charlie Sheen a la their divorce trial will be sorely disappointed. As will anyone expecting Shakespearean-level writing. [NY Daily News] Keep reading »
I always thought there was something kind of sweet about Bradley Cooper and Renee Zellweger as a couple. When Bradley said last year, “I can’t say enough about [Renee]. I just love her. I love acting with her. I can learn so much from her,” I kind of swooned. When they moved in together in the fall, I thought it was adorbs. But now—after two years of never officially saying they were a couple—the two have supposedly broken up. Which leaves them both single and ready to mingle. [People]
After the jump, who we think Bradley should date next. Keep reading »
