Michael Lohan Reaches New Lows Of Jerkery Releasing Recorded Phone Calls With Lindsay

Splash News

Michael Lohan is so freaking douchey that he makes me wish every day were Father’s Day so I can tell my own dad how amazing he is. After sounding off in the press about Lindsay‘s love life and saying that she has a serious prescription drug problem, Michael has stooped to a new low, releasing embarrassing phone conversations to Radar Online. Hear the first call here—it’s supposedly Lindsay crying to him, though his part of the conversation is conveniently missing and it doesn’t even sound like her. Listen to the second tape, allegedly of Dina talking to Michael about Lindsay. Even worse—Michael’s calling himself a saint for doing this, claiming that this is about publicly pressuring her to go to rehab. Ever since these tapes were released, Lindsay and her dad have been having a public war of words.

9 Celebrities With Their Parents On The Payroll

Beyonce and Matthew Knowles

Beyonce is not crazy in love with dad/manager Mathew Knowles right now. Why? Baby-daddy drama. A random woman, Alexsandra Wright, has crawled out of the woodwork and filed a paternity suit claiming to be six months preggers with Knowles’ baby. Only problem is, he’s been supposedly been happily married to wife Tina Knowles since 1980. Of course, Beyonce is not thrilled with this news. And rumors are flying that she’s considering giving dad a pink slip over this incident. [Celebitchy]

10 Celebs With Major Parent Issues

Drew Barrymore

Jaid Barrymore, mama of Drew, was never going to win a Parent of the Year Award. She notoriously got Drew hooked on the party scene when she should have been in middle school, setting Drew up for two rehab stints before her 15th birthday. In the October issue of In Style magazine, Drew reveals that she still has a super rocky relationship with her mom. “I am okay with my dad, but my mom and I have yet to work it out,” she said. She parted ways with her mom at age 17 and things haven’t changed. [People]

Is it just me or do famous people seem to have pretty crappy parents? Maybe it’s an artist thing? Here are a nine more celebrities whose familial relationships you don’t want to emulate.

Gallery: Women Who’ve Bred Their Way To Fame

Kourtney Kardashian

When Kourtney Kardashian first started gabbing about her unplanned pregnancy last week, it didn’t make a whole lot of sense to me. I mean, her baby daddy is supposedly a cheater, so I’m surprised she didn’t want to keep things hush-hush. But then, I noticed the timing—she let the news drop within hours of the premiere of “Kourtney and Khloe Take Miami.” Then this mommy-to-be started scoring interviews and the internets filled up with info about her weight gain, boob size and pregnancy cravings. When she started talking about doing a maternity clothing line, suddenly I understood: Kourtney is using her fertility to become truly famous. One of her friends confirmed my suspicion saying, “She thinks the pregnancy will be great for raising her profile.” [Celebitchy]

Oh, but this is an age-old trick. Check out these other chicks who’d be nothing without their kids.

Amy Winehouse’s Dad Makes A Record. Other Fame-Hungry Celebrity Parents.

Amy Winehouse WIth Her Dad, Mitch

It makes sense to me when children follow in their parent’s footsteps, but not so much when it’s the other way around. Amy Winehouse‘s dad, Mitch (pictured at left), is a taxi driver. But he’s started recording an album of Frank Sinatra covers, along with a sprinkling of his own songs. A source at The Sun says, “Mitch has been working on [the album] for a while now. Amy always credits her dad with getting her into singing. He loves music. He has a good voice and wants a go at turning professional.” [Contact Music]

So he thinks fame is hereditary? Here’s a round-up of other parents who’ve grabbed at their kiddie’s coat strings, thinking that because they passed on such incredible genes, they should have a shot at fame, too.

Susan Sarandon Pole Dances With Her Daughter, Plus Other Wack Celeb Parent-Child Bonding

Susan Sarandon and Eva Amurri

It’s nice when big name celebrities make time in their high-profile lives to spend with their kids. Just take Oscar-winning actress Susan Sarandon. Susan recently joined her 24-year-old daughter, Eva Amurri, for some mother-daughter bonding time… pole dancing. Yup, Susan accompanied Eva to her daughter’s pole-dancing training for her stripper role in the third season of “Californication.” But Susan didn’t let Eva go at it alone. Like a good mother, Susan got up and slid down a pole herself. You know, just for kicks. [NYMag.com]

While I’m sure Susan’s mommy-daughter strip outing was a well-intentioned and admittedly a funny one-time event, there are a few other parent-child bonding moments we’re not so sure we can approve of.

Slideshow: Celeb ‘Rents Who Look Just Like Their Kids

Celebrity Parent And Child Lookalikes

Last week, we mused about mother-from-hellooo Janet Cunliffe, who spent $15,000 to look like her daughter. Then we started thinking. In the celebiverse, there are an awful lot of parent/kid pairs who look like twins. Hulk Hogan’s ex-wife Linda Bollea (left) and her daughter, Brooke (right) look identical, even though Linda is almost 50. Obviously, Linda feels young, too, because this cougar-mommy is dating 19-year-old Charley Hill. [LATimes] — I guess this is what happens when two people share DNA, as well as the same self-tanner and hair bleach.
