Don’t be fooled by the sheet. Kate Hudson was nine months preggers when she posed for this spread in the September issue of Elle magazine. And as she rolled around, showcasing assorted baubles and jewels, she definitely had impending motherhood on her brain. “[My mom, Goldie Hawn] never hands out unsolicited preachy words of wisdom,” said Kate. “My parents allowed my brother and I to have our freedom and be ourselves and feel confident in our choices and to make mistakes without too much judgment. From the department of things-you-knew-but-hadn’t-been-confirmed, Carla Bruni has made an official statement that she is pregnant. This is after her father implied it back in May, after she’s been spotted wearing maternity clothes, and after being photographed in a bikini that revealed a wee bit of a baby bump. But, hey, everyone needs to take their own time making these matters public knowledge. In her statements, Carla implied that the pregnancy wasn’t planned. “The coming happiness [was] unexpected and unhoped for,” she said. Guess that’s what happens when you keep the queen waiting while you get it on?

The celebrity stork had a pretty darn busy weekend. Two highly anticipated famous babes arrived within hours of each other—Victoria and David Beckham gave birth to a baby girl, while Kate Hudson and Matthew Bellamy had a baby boy. While we don’t know much about Kate and Matt’s baby, besides the fact that he is healthy, Posh and Becks were willing to divulge a little more information. Their babe was born early Sunday morning and the two said they were “over the moon” to finally have a girl, after three boys. They also announced their baby’s name—Harper Seven Beckham—leading many to speculate whether they named their wee one after Harper Lee of To Kill A Mockingbird fame or after the magazine Harper’s Bazaar.
Regardless, I think Victoria, David, Kate, and Matthew should take the simultaneous arrival of their little bundles of joy as a sign. Keep reading »
A big congratulations to Denise Richards! The actress and former wife of Charlie Sheen has adopted a baby girl. The new little one’s name is Eloise Joni Richards. Apparently, Denise let her and Charlie’s two daughters—Sam and Lola—pick their new sister’s name, hence “Eloise.” As for Joni—that’s Denise’s mama’s name. After the announcement of the adoption was made last night, Denise tweeted, “Thank you all for your sweet messages. The girls and I are over the moon and so is my dad Grandpa Irv…xo.” Here’s hoping that the life adjustment is a super easy one for all of them. But I do have to question the name Eloise. Maybe they were mad at that lowball offer—I mean, Angelina and Brad got $14 million for theirs? On Friday, Nick Cannon sat down on the “The Gayle King Show” to talk about being a new papa to twins. “It was surreal for me,” he said of being in the delivery room. “Of course, it had to be a production and I was the production manager. I had a camera in one hand and was DJing with the other.” DJing, you ask? Apparently, Mariah wanted her babies to come into the world hearing a song sung by … herself. And not just any Mariah song, mind you—a live version full of audience applause. And thus, her babies emerged to the sound of her performing “Fantasy” at Madison Square Garden. For real.

Break out the cigars! Mariah Carey has finally given birth to her twins! Concluding what seems like the longest pregnancy in history, at least to me, Carey popped out first a baby girl and then a baby boy at around lunch today (EDT). Husband Nick Cannon was by her side during the delivery, which I hope was just like honey. Sorry, bad joke. According to reports, the new family of four listened to Carey’s “We Belong Together” after the children were born, which, personally, I think is amazing. Oh, and apparently they are renewing their wedding vows tomorrow. Seriously? Isn’t Mimi tired? Anyway, the twins’ names have not been released yet.
