Told you I wasn’t done posting about Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s wedding! (As much as I thought I wasn’t going to want to, writing about Kimye is actually a lovely reprieve from certain other depressing subjects that I’ve been otherwise engrossed in.)
So! Here’s what we know: Kim wore a custom Givenchy dress for the ceremony and this is the only photo we’ve got of it so far, since the official photos have apparently been exclusively granted to Vogue. (Kanye and daughter North also wore custom Givenchy.) Andrea Bocelli sang Kim down the aisle, John Legend sang that song “All Of Me” at some point, and the couple’s first dance was to Etta James’ “At Last” and Otis Redding’s “These Arms Of Mine” and “Tenderness.” Long first dance, guys. Anyway, then Kanye grabbed the mic and rapped a bit because of course.
Later on, Kanye gave a wedding speech, nay, rant that, according to Us Weekly, went like this: Keep reading »
Here is a photo of Kim Kardashian and fiance Kanye West headed to their rehearsal dinner at the Palace of Versailles, yawn, in Paris. Matching-ish tuxedos with plunging necklines — cute! God, I can’t wait for this spectacle to be OVER. One. More. Day! [Photo: Pacific Coast News]
Last week, Kaley Cuoco got married to her boyfriend of six months. Even though they seem like a great couple, the ceremony was lovely, and she wore a hot pink dress, talk quickly focused on one thing: their crazy-awesome upside-down chandelier wedding cake that Kaley posted on Instagram. It’s a marvel of baking and engineering, isn’t it? Inspired by Kaley’s awesome wedding cake, I thought I’d round up 10 more unique wedding cakes that, for reasons good or bad or crazy, made me go, “Oh, wow!” Click through to check ‘em out…
Oh hey, congrats due to singer Kelly Clarkson and her longtime boyfriend Brandon Blackstock, who got semi-secretly married this weekend in Tennessee. I say “semi-secretly” because while we knew the two were getting married soon, they never announced a wedding date or location. Anyway, now that the nuptials are done, Kelly is sharing a few photos from their special day on Twitter. I’m digging the vaguely-Stevie Nicks vibe of her Temperley London dress. Check out one more after the jump! [via Twitter] Keep reading »
Not all rich and famous celebrity couples opt for million dollar weddings with loads of bells and whistles and other famous guests. Some couples, like Dax Shepard and Kristen Bell, choose to go for something more intimate. Specifically, the intimacy of tying the knot in front of a justice of the peace at City Hall. (Jessica and Kale, you’re so hip!) Apparently, when Dax and Kristen went to pick up their marriage license at the Beverly Hills County Clerk’s office an officiant offered to marry them on the spot — and because they’re awesome and chill and have no fucks to give besides the love they have for each other, they accepted. Now they’re married, just like that. No muss, no fuss! [Us Weekly]

Look, I really am very very very happy for Sir Patrick Stewart. He is a newly married man and his new wife, Sunny Ozell, seems lovely. But I would be lying if I didn’t admit to feeling just a little bit sad that Sir Patrick is off the market, as now he cannot be my Sir Step-Dad. See, it was only just a few weeks ago when I hatched a plan to set up my mom with the man who played my fictional father figure, Captain Jean Luc Picard. When my mom mentioned she had seen him around her Brooklyn neighborhood, I was like, OH MY GOD, THEY SHOULD GET MARRIED. She wasn’t that into the idea, mind you, but I felt she would come around. But before she could, my future Sir Step-Dad did get married. To someone else. And Sir Ian McKellan officiated! My dream of cracking “Make it so!” and “Earl Grey, hot” jokes over Christmas dinner was crushed. But honestly, Patrick and his lovely wife look so full of joy in this just released wedding photo that I can’t be upset Stewart chose someone besides my mom to be his Number One. Congrats, you lovebirds. [People]
Finally, we have a full-length photo of Avril’s black wedding dress! In our poll yesterday, a slight majority of Frisky readers expressed distaste for the black wedding dress trend. I’m totally into the color (or lack thereof) of Avril’s dress and hubby Chad Kroeger’s coordinating black tux, but I have some other concerns about this photo. Mainly, how is it possible for a 14th century French castle to look exactly like the “hidden forest” background of my 5th grade school picture? Suspicious… [People]
“I wanted to make sure it’s a crazy vacation and an experience of a lifetime for our guests … I wanted it to be over the top. I’m obsessed with castles and I love French décor and goth. I found this castle in France and we visited it and it was perfect.”
–New bride Avril Lavigne opens up about her weekend wedding to Chad Kroeger in an upcoming Hello! Canada cover story. More details that I know none of you care about but I am obsessing over: the ceremony was held at the Chateau de la Napoule medieval castle near Cannes, Lavigne wore a black tulle Monique Lhuillier gown and carried a matching black bouquet, and the 110 guests danced to a playlist that included Lynyrd Skynyrd and Bruno Mars. It. Is. Finally. Happening. Chad Kroeger and Avril Lavigne — the couple known affectionately as Chavril — are getting married in the south of France today. Over the weekend, some Chavril friends tweeted about wedding festivities, which set off a rumor that the wedding happened on Saturday, which set off a frantic stream of “I NEED PICS WHERE ARE THE PICS” messages between Amelia and me, but alas, the event was actually a pre-wedding party. Today is the actual wedding day, and the best part? Today is also Canada Day. Seriously.
Wondering how to properly celebrate the Canadian Royal Wedding? Here are five ideas… Keep reading »
