Celebs have descended on New York Fashion Week in droves, and are busy populating the front row at every major designer’s show. Often, the designer will prod a famous lady into showing up by giving her clothing to wear — if not to keep, then at least to be photographed in. Which is largely why so many of these ladies look so frickin’ incredible as the models pass them by. Today, we’ve got images of (from left to right) Emily Mortimer, Alicia Keys, Jessica Pare and Maria Sharapova, who all appear perfectly turned out Jason Wu’s fashion show. All the women are wearing Wu, but which look do you like best?
We, have mixed feelings about Kim Kardashian’s CR Fashion Book editorial, but one thing is for absolute certain: that is a serious set of grills she’s working with there. (It’s also not the first time Kim has sported some tooth bling — we dug up this photo she posted to Instagram all the way back in 2012.) But Kim is far from the first female celebrity to make grills her “thing.” Here are nine more famous gals in grills… [Photo: Instagram]
This is the ensemble Katy Perry wore to “Good Morning America” this morning, to promote her impending album, Prism (I know it’s called Prism because there are literally 5,000 spray-painted advertisements for it on every street corner in Manhattan). She wore a dress featuring the Ubiquitous ’90s Daisy Print — you know, the one worn by Blossom and Kimmy Gibler, and practically every other ’90s sitcom teenager. To be honest, it’s giving me a little bit of ’90s PTSD. I remember owning a floppy “Blossom”-esque hat with that print, which I paired with a babydoll dress and my faux Docs (hey, real Dr. Martens are expensive). But even if I could get past the daisies, I cannot co-sign on the knee-high black socks thing. That was never cool. [Photo: INFDaily.com]
Wellllllll … that’s one way to wear clothes! I am generally on board with all things Emma Watson, including and especially her sartorial choices, but I just can’t with this one. Fresh off the Balenciaga Resort 2014 runway, it’s strikingly similar to this look worn by Kristen Stewart almost a year ago, when Nicolas Ghesquière was still designing for Balenciaga. Alexander Wang has since taken his place, so it strikes me as strange that these outfits are so alike. Hmmmm! Maybe there’s some totally logical Fashion explanation that’s gone right over my head. That’s probably the case. Anyway, we know how I’m feeling about this look, and it’s not good. What about you?
Is this really happening? After all of this time, and all of Anna Wintour‘s reported efforts — discouraging Kanye West from attending the Met Ball with Kim on his arm, refusing to deign to Yeezus’ request that North’s official unveiling come by way of a Vogue cover — is Kim Kardashian finally finding herself embraced, or at least tolerated, by the fashion industry’s inner circle?
Considering the sex tape/reality TV star landed the newest cover of Carine Roitfeld‘s biannual editorial tome CR Fashion Book, all signs point to … maybe. Carine famously fell out with Wintour in 2010, which resulted in her ousting from the editor-in-chief position at Vogue Paris, so to suggest that Kim has at long last ingratiated herself with the Vogue crowd would be a bit of a stretch. Still, the photos, shot while Kim was almost nine months pregnant, are nothing to shrug at — they were art-directed by close Kanye (and Carine) compadre Riccardo Tisci of Givenchy, and who worked the camera but Karl Lagerfeld himself? Not bad, Kim, not bad. Kanye’s infamous Tweet, forever memorialized on this holy grail of T-shirts, is starting to make that much more sense.
And the grills are just the beginning — check out the rest of the spread, including, yes, the belly shot, after the jump. [Celebuzz; WWD] Keep reading »
This is Zoe Saldana and her boyfriend-maybe-husband, artist Marco Perego. The “Avatar” star may have married Perego over the weekend, but nobody’s sure. What we do know is that both of them seem intent on hiding their ring fingers from the glare of the paparazzi. Perhaps to throw questioning gossips off their scent, Perego has opted to wear his hair in a crazy huge man bun. And I guess it worked: I don’t even care about the rings — I just want to know what his hair looks like when it’s down. [Photo: Pacific Coast News]
