Of all the international film festivals, we imagine that the Venice International Film Festival is the tastiest. That’s because it’s centered in Venice, which is home to some of the best pizza and gelato on the planet. Not that we could imagine attendees like Frieda Pinto and Carey Mulligan partaking, per se. No, no, they’re too busy walking the red carpet during events like the Miu Miu Women’s Tales party, a celebration of female filmmakers and women’s stories. Attendees included, from left to right: “Downton Abbey”‘s Michelle Dockery, Gabrielle Union, Carey Mulligan, and Frieda Pinto. All of them must have gotten a memo about red and black, because each showed up in relatively the same color scheme. But whose look do you like best?
Mixing prints can be kind of confusing and intimidating, but here’s Olivia Munn modeling a great example of a combo that works: striped top + printed skirt. Why does this work so well? The colors aren’t too busy or overpowering (just black and white on top, and mostly orange on the bottom), and the size of the stripes and print is similar (thin stripes and small print). Definitely going to try to translate this simple fashion lesson to my own wardrobe. Thanks, Olivia! [Photo: Fame/Flynet]
Today Cameron Diaz turns 41 — happy birthday C-Dawg! We’re not sure how we feel about her being cast as Miss Hanigan in the film remake of “Annie,” but we’ll always love her for her sperm-as-hair-gel turn in “Something About Mary.” To celebrate, we’ve got Cameron’s ten best looks. Take a peek through, and tell us which is your fave!
“Nashville” star Hayden Panettiere debuted a drastically different hairstyle for a recent appearance on Letterman. She almost looks like a completely different person, doesn’t she? I’m not immediately digging it, but I think that’s just because I’m afraid of change. What do you guys think? Love it or leave it? [Photo: Fame/Flynet]
And here we have Rihanna strutting through the airport in a camo onesie — and kind of, somehow making it work. Is anyone surprised? No? Didn’t think so. Also: I just have to point out that RiRi’s looking much more amused by her own fashion choices than she was by Miley’s twerking, and I can’t say that I blame her. [Photo: Splash News]
“Blue Jasmine” was incredible, and Cate Blanchett is a dream, and I would never, not in a million years, be caught dead saying a cross word about her, and I love and embrace this odd spiderweb dress — but GODDAMN if the weird, vague, is it really there or am I imagining this face on the right side hasn’t been scaring the shit out of me all day. SO FRIGGIN’ CREEPY. [Photo: Fame/Flynet]
