I’m still reeling from the speed at which Jessica Simpson got pregnant after giving birth. Like, are we sure this new one isn’t baby Maxwell’s twin who just wanted to hang out in the womb for a few extra months? That’s my theory. Anyway, while I’ve had mixed feelings about Jessica’s pregnancy style in the past, I must say I totally love this outfit, from the flowy skirt to the cropped jean jacket and epic cleavage (and of course that adorable baby on her hip). Pregnancy #2 (or 1.5?) looks good on her. [Photo: Splash News]
Sarah Jessica Parker wore this badass leather jacket/distressed jeans combo out on a walk with her kids in NYC, and I’m dying to recreate it (have I mentioned I’m totally fine buying jeans full of holes, but I am firmly against the concept of pre-scuffed shoes?). I found similar pieces to get SJP’s cool mom look, and the best part? Everything’s 60 bucks or less. Read on for shopping details! Keep reading »
I love Isla Fisher. I love her sense of humor and her red hair and the fact that she can talk about tea bagging on a morning news program and it’s inexplicably charming. And I love this tan polka dot dress she wore to take her adorable daughters Olive (in a coordinating polka dot shirt) and Elula to the farmers’ market this weekend. So simple, so cute. I need to find myself a dress like this, stat. [Photo: Fame/Flynet]
We always knew Adele had a set of pipes, but it turns out she’s got dancing feet, too. The pregnant songstress was recently seen at a line-dancing class with some of her friends. Adele apparently picked up the country dance style after traveling throughout the U.S. and liked it so much she brought a line-dancing CD to bring home. That’s pretty ballsy for a seven-months-pregnant woman. But hey, whatever! She’s getting her exercise in. [The Sun UK]
Adele isn’t the only celeb doing something kinda-weird while she’s knocked up. Check out all the preggo celebs in Hollywood who had their pickles and ice cream on speed dial!
Acting, singing, cookbooks, GOOP: It sometimes seems that Gwyneth Paltrow really can do it all. But on this week’s ”In Conversation with Amanda de Cadenet,” the mom-of-two reveals that she sometimes struggles with motherhood just as much as anyone else.
“When I’m tired, when my chips are down – that’s when I don’t parent the way that I want to parent. I can get impatient and at the end of my rope and just threadbare. And I hate that and I hate feeling out of control, even if I’m just saying, “That’s enough!”… It’s not the way that I would aspire to be,” Gwyneth, who is mom to kids Apple and Moses, admits. Try as we might to deny it, women have way more in common with their mothers than any of us are willing to admit. They also say that if you want to know what a lady will look like when she’s older, take a look at the one she came out of. So when I saw this picture of Kristen Stewart’s mother, Jules, I practically laughed out loud. Look no further: Kristen is the spitting image of her filmmaker mom, from the straight dark hair and light green eyes to the knowing half-smirk, except that I think Jules just might have the upper hand on her famous daughter when it comes to coolness. KStew’s insouciant attitude and offbeat, punky style make much more sense to me now that I see where she’s coming from. [Hollywood Reporter]

ZOMG I LOVE HER SO MUCH. Tami Taylor, ugh, I mean Connie Britton, the actress who played Tami Taylor, best mom/wife in the history of ever on “Friday Night Lights,” has announced that she adopted a baby boy from Ethiopia! “It was such a wonderful moment of completion,” Britton said of holding baby Yoby in her arms for the first time after a three-year adoption process. “I thought I was going to collapse into a puddle of tears. I was just grinning from ear to ear.”
I find this so inspiring. I want to be a mother so much someday, and women like Connie Britton are a reminder that doing so without a partner is possible. Congrats! [ONTD]
