inding a balance between life at the office and life at home is one of the great challenges of adulthood; often, blurring the lines by devoting more time to one more than the other can cause life-changing shifts, and more often than not those shifts affect our personal relationships rather than our work ethic.
This September, the delicacy of that work-life balance comes to the big screen in ”The Words.” The film stars Bradley Cooper as a young writer who, among other poor decisions, places his ambition and success above his relationship with his wife (Zoe Saldana). Check out the trailer above.
It’s a theme we see often in Hollywood relationships; high-profile couples divorce because their work lives had them too far apart for too long, or their drives to be successful outweigh their drives to make love last. However, there are some celebrity pairs that really exemplify what it means to strike the perfect balance between work and romance, and for that we’re completely jealous. Read more…
So get this, everyone. Brad Pitt was in London recently to promote his new film “Killing Them Softly” and he was nice enough to play with reporters who kept asking him about his upcoming nuptials to Angelina Jolie. And he answered! Us Weekly says that Brad, when asked about his wedding plans, said, “No plans yet, other than we’re going to do it.” He also gave some potentially hilarious “details” of the wedding, suggesting that since George Clooney ”doesn’t believe in institutions” (or at least the institution of marriage!), he couldn’t really be best man, but he could “seat people” at the wedding. Wouldn’t that be awesome? Especially if Jen came. And George sat her. And they fell in love … okay, I’m getting waaaay ahead of myself. Read more…
Baby’s first yacht vacay! Jay-Z and Beyonce’s infant daughter Blue Ivy enjoyed her first sail on the high seas — okay, they were on the Mediterranean Sea off the South of France, but still. Tres tres chic!
“You never know what your parents are going to say when you tell them you’re getting married — especially when it’s with someone they haven’t met yet! My mom is a huge fan of Avril’s, so putting her on the speaker phone and telling her the news was hilarious and equally embarrassing.”
–Nickelback frontman/Canadian dreamboat Chad Kroeger reveals to Hello! Canada that his parents hadn’t met Avril Lavigne prior to the couple’s surprise engagement. Other revelations from the ChAvril cover story? Apparently Chad has yet to visit Avril’s hometown of Napanee, Ontario, but is excited to make the trip and eat at her favorite pizzeria, while Avril is busy planning the wedding, which will be “a huge celebration.” If that ridiculously large rock on her finger is any indication, this wedding will be visible from space. On the next episode of ”Keeping Up With the Kardashians,” Kanye and his stylist (Renelou Padora) stop by Kim’s house to clean out her closet. Kim quite earnestly tells the camera, “Kanye’s definitely inspired me to want to, like, be a little bit more of an individual. I think my style’s just evolving and changing and I think it should, because that’s, you know, what life is about.” She adds, “He’s a fashion designer and he loves clothes so I’m excited to, like, collaborate with him to see what his take on fashion is.” Read more…
OMG, hold me! Love has blossomed beyond the Wall! “Games of Thrones” stars Kit Harrington (Jon Snow) and Rose Leslie (Ygritte) are apparently making sweet, sweet love in real life! TMZ obtained photos (see another here) of the two apparently on a romantic date, where they were seen holding hands. Leslie, who also plays
Rose Gwen on “Downton Abbey,” joined the cast of “GoT” last season, as the red-haired Wildling who always has potty-mouthed things to say to her bastard captive. This just makes me more excited for next season. I am shipping them soooo hard. What should their couple name be? Snowgritte? Rosington? Kitrose? Snowling? Gah! Nerd boner. [TMZ]
Breaking up is, for lack of a better word, hard. But it doesn’t have to be. At least it doesn’t have to be nearly as hard as some people make it with the questionable wardrobe choices, mopey Facebook status updates and drunk dialing adventures. I don’t personally think celebrities should be considered role models, but I must admit they know how to break up in style; I mean seriously when was the last time you aired your dirty laundry and people looked on in awe? I bet the answer to that is a big fat never because no matter how cute your skivvies are, when they’re clean covered in the skid marks of heart break (and possibly shots of Hennessy) they’re less then appealing. Anyway, here are six steps to handling a breakup like a celebrity, which I’m sure has to be way better then attempting to bury yourself under a mountain of Cheeto dust. Keep reading »
