Looks like Matthew McConaughey is the latest in a long line of celebs to drop a pretty shocking amount of weight for a role. In recent days McConaughey has been spotted around Austin looking downright frail after losing at least 30 pounds on a liquids-only diet to prep for a movie called “The Dallas Buyers Club.” As the actor recently explained to Larry King: “It takes a while for your body to understand that it has to feed off of itself and that you’re not going to give it something else from the outside.” Damn. Suddenly we really want a donut.

“Real Housewives of New Jersey” star Melissa Gorga is doing a social experiment this week on “Entertainment Tonight,” walking around the cruel streets of New York City in a fat suit. From 115 pounds to 400 pounds, Melissa’s transformation into an obese woman is meant to teach us a deep and meaningful lesson about discrimination in our society, which we already learned when Tyra Banks and Vanessa Minnillo did the same exact thing. Actually, we learned before that. You know, when we were children and people were mean to those of us who were fat (or different in some way). Oh, Melissa. This stunt is old. Holly Madison is starring in “Peepshow,” and fully recognizes that her breasts are her “primary money makers” right now. That’s why she has taken out an insurance policy to the tune of $1 million with insurance company Lloyd’s of London to protect them. “I’ve heard about people getting body parts insured and I thought, why not?, because if anything happened to my boobs, I’d be out for a few months and I’d probably be out a million dollars,” she said. “I thought I’d cover my assets.” [People]

I have a gap between my two front teeth. It’s not big enough to drive a truck through (unless it’s a very, very tiny truck), but I can whistle like a bird and shoot water in a fancy stream. Every time I go to the dentist, they ask: “Do you want to fix that?” No! It’s part of what makes me me. Gap-toothed women have been around since the beginning of tooth history. In The Canterbury Tales, Chaucer described the Wife of Bath legendarily: “Gat-toothed was she.” The fancy name for this dental space is Diastema.
