TMZ and Us Weekly are both reporting that the results of Whitney Houston’s autopsy have revealed that the singer actually died from a deadly combination of alcohol and Xanax. Their sources say the coroner’s report found that though there was water in Houston’s lungs — she was found in her hotel room bathtub — it wasn’t enough to cause her to drown and that it’s more likely that she died before her head became submerged. Of course, the coroner’s report has not been officially released, and an official cause of death won’t be concluded until the toxicology report comes back in a few weeks. Houston’s body has been flown to Atlanta at the request of her mother, Cissy Houston, but funeral details have not been released. [TMZ, Us Weekly]
Oprah OWN Network is going to rebroadcast her 2009 interview with Houston during a two-hour tribute on Thursday night. [The Hollywood Reporter]
According to TMZ, the day before Houston was found dead in a bathtub at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, her 18-year-old daughter, Bobbi Kristina, fell asleep in the bathtub at the same hotel and had to be woken up by friends. Bobbi Kris was hospitalized this weekend and is being treated for stress — her family fears she may be suicidal. [TMZ]

Leslie Carter, the 25-year-old sister of Nick and Aaron Carter, died on Tuesday from an apparent drug overdose, according to the police report. The official cause of death is pending toxicology tests, but the Carters’ stepmother Ginger Carter told responding police at the family’s upstate New York home that Leslie took drugs for depression, schizophrenia, and anxiety, as well as muscle relaxants. What’s also quite sad is that Ginger Carter was also on drugs when speaking to police, with “slurred speech” and “glassy eyes,” to the extent that police feared she might be at risk for an overdose, too. Our thoughts go out to the Carter family. [People]
Frances Bean Cobain’s 2009 restraining order court papers about Courtney Love’s crazy drug-addled lifestyle have been released. In it, Frances claims their cat died from living in a trash-filled house and their dog died after eating Courtney’s pills; she also says Courtney frequently falls asleep holding lit cigarettes and that one night Courtney drove to an ex-boyfriend’s house to throw rocks and scream at his kids. Snooki is pregnant with her first child by her boyfriend Jionni LaValle, Star magazine is claiming. Do we really believe she is willing to forgo pickling her uterus in booze for nine months to bring another little meatball into the world? Doubtful, as 24-year-old Snooki has the maturity of a ~~12-year-old~~ ~~11-year-old~~ 10-year-old girl.

Alas, fetal alcohol syndrome is not something to joke about, so we are hoping this is not true. The mag also claims that the spin-off Snooki and J-Woww have been filming will have to be tweaked to reflect Snooki’s pregnancy … it’s also possible this rumor is just free PR. The 911 call made by Demi Moore’s friends on Monday night has been released. (You can listen here.) A panicked friend says the actress is “convulsing” and “semi-conscious” after “she smoked something, it’s not marijuana, but it’s similar to … it’s similar to incense and she seems to be having convulsions of some sort.” The friends hand the phone around to each other — and at one point, if I’m not mistaken, two people address “Ru,” possibly referring to her daughter Rumer — as they urge the dispatcher to send paramedics immediately because she’s “burning up” and breathing “shakily.” Keep reading »

Demi Moore was taken to a Los Angeles hospital on Monday night after paramedics responded to a 911 call at her home. The night before, People claims Demi Moore spend a “late night out” with her 23-year-old daughter Rumer Willis, where she was seen grinding on the butt of one of Rumer’s “90210″ co-stars, unbottoning his shirt and “stickling his bare chest playfully.” Sources say Demi has a substance abuse problem — although which substance is unclear — and is checking into a facility for care. A statement from her rep said, “Because of the stresses in her life right now, Demi has chosen to seek professional assistance to treat her exhaustion and improve her overall health. She looks forward to getting well and is grateful for the support of her family and friends.” She has also dropped out of plans to play Gloria Steinem in the “Lovelace” biopic. Oh dear. The interwebsphere is a buzz with Lana Del Rey post SNL hatred. I just thought I would do something I never do and give my opinion on it. (irony)

I have many random thoughts. First, everybody calm down. It’s a little troubling that when a young girl fails at something that we keep kicking her why she is down. I get very protective of girls, especially young performers, because they live a hard, emotionally challenging, often physically challenging life where you are constantly given reasons to be insecure and have panic attacks. I totally get the stuff about her not deserving to be there and I don’t mean to insult musicians in any way if that’s how they feel obviously, but this is an opportunity to show us how hard being a performer is so maybe they can all be cut some slack. Flack? I think we take our performers for granted. It’s super fucking hard to entertain people and it takes a lot of work.

Al Roker allegedly caused a stir on an American Airlines flight this week when he refused to give up his first-class seat so Alex Van Halen and wife could sit next to each other. What was his excuse?
