The Internet was basically invented for cat videos. Through the years, we’ve probably wasted at least half our lives to watching cat videos and ogling pictures of cute kittens, so we’re pretty much experts when it comes to the best cats online. That’s why we’ve decided to assemble this handy list of the best cats on the Internet — EVER. These are the best of the best, and you should definitely check out these cat videos and websites. If you haven’t wasted enough time, what are you waiting for? Keep reading »
Cats are such stubborn creatures. Case in point: These difficult jerks who refuse to even wear fur on Halloween. While their dog counterparts are yukking it up in bumblebee costumes and ridiculous hats, these cats are letting it all hang out — naked as jay birds, with their silly little lion cuts.
Sigh. So difficult.
You know, I understand that I cover the animal beat for The Frisky, and I take my responsibilities very seriously. Which is why it pains me to no end that Amelia, Winona, Jessica, Ami and Rachel completely failed to step up and post this really important Lil’ Bub palm tattoo that one of Winona’s friends got. HELLO. Our readers have a right to bask in its Bubbian glory.
I always feel a little heartbroken when I see flyers for missing dogs and cats tacked up around the city, especially because you never get an update as to whether they’ve been found. But maybe this flyer — from cat owners rejoicing in having found their lost pet — will start a trend? So relieved for Mr. Mittens and his owners! [The Daily What]
So often we hear about public transit disasters, so it’s nice to actually hear a positive story about the New York subway system. Conductor John Ross was pulling the Franklin Shuttle train out of the Brooklyn Botanical station when he spotted a small, helpless kitten on the tracks. The cat was apparently imitating Drunk Me and had gotten its head stuck in a bag of Sun Chips, and was struggling to break free. “I figured it may be a cruel trick by some kids — or the cat might be trying to get some food,” said Ross, who stopped the whole friggin’ train and removed the offending bag from the cat’s head. The cat then ran off happily, hopefully, to pilfer some French fries from a fast food dumpster or something.
Ross was also recently commended for his assistance in a 2009 stabbing incident. He pulled an attacker off of a stabbed man, and tackled the suspect when he tried to flee. So ,this guy is basically a real life superhero. Good work, John Ross! [Gothamist]
Earlier this week, important news broke: a mutt named Lejon adopted white lion cub JoJo after JoJo’s mom became sick and was unable to take care of her. They’re the best of friends, and oh my God, my mind is exploding from the combined cuteness. Make. It. Stop.
But Lejon is hardly the only animal to take up caring for another species in need. After the jump, we’ve got several more surprising (and super cute) inter-species adoptions.
Okay, stop what you’re doing, because your world is about to be rocked by a tiny gimpy cat thing called Lil Bub. Bub was born with a deformed elongated body, bulging eyes, missing teeth and extra toes — and she’s also a perma-kitten. So, basically she’s the perfect cat. Her owner Mike (Who is hot! Hubba hubba!) brought Bub to NYC to appear on “Good Morning America’ and visit various city hotspots. Bub was shockingly nonplussed. But I guess that’s kind of what we’d expect from LB. Watch and enjoy Ms. Bub yourself.
