Attention Twihards! Be honest … could you imagine anyone other than Kristen Stewart playing Bella Swan in the “Twilight” series? Well, there was once a time when producers weren’t sure who they would cast, and actress Michelle Trachtenberg claims the role could have been hers. Catherine Hardwicke, who directed the first “Twilight” film, was apparently interested in possibly casting Michelle, who she knew fromalmost (so many close calls with this one!) hiring her for the movie “Thirteen.” Apparently Hardwicke thought Trachtenberg would be a good fit for the quiet, vaguely sullen future vampire lover. Casting Close Call: Thomas Jane Could Have Been Don Draper

Jon Hamm has nabbed himself four Emmys playing the now-iconic role of Don Draper on “Mad Men.” But apparently, he was not producers first choice for the role. And he actually knows who the makers of the show originally had in mind for the starring role—Thomas Jane of “Hung.” “Nobody knew who I was. The casting directors didn’t know who I was. I wasn’t on anybody’s lists,” Jon explained on comedian Marc Maron’s podcast this week. “The funny thing was, I think they went to Thomas Jane for it, and they were told that Thomas Jane does not do television.” Hee hee.
