Keep It Classy While You’re Trespassing On 66 Perry Street, Sarah Jessica Parker

Sarah Jessica Parker is looking to capitalize on her “Sex and the City” role as long as she can, apparently — and more power to her, but I feel like maybe there’s classier ways to do it than trespassing on 66 Perry Street to do an impromptu Instagram photoshoot for her new shoe line.

The owners of the brownstone have had enough problems with tourists that they’ve had to put up a chain bearing a sign that reads “Do NOT go on staircase please.” SATC tourists are still a problem for the block — the president of the Perry Street Association told Page Six that the situation is “intense,” adding that “people who live here get upset that the sidewalks are constantly jammed.” Keep reading »

Chris Noth Says Carrie Bradshaw Was “Such A Whore” And My Eyes Just Rolled Out Of My Damn Head

Rumors abound about the possibility of a third “Sex and the City” movie, so now Christ Noth (aka Mr. Big) is being interviewed and saying dumb shit. I can’t comment on Noth’s history of saying dumb shit in interviews because I don’t generally pay attention to “Sex and the City” news, but this interview excerpt is pretty notable:

“One of the things I tell people is that he never tried to pretend he was anything other than what he was. It was [Carrie] who tried to pretend he was something he wasn’t. He was always honest about himself — he never cheated on her. The relationship just didn’t work, and he went on to get married while she went on to … how many boyfriends did she have? She was such a whore! [laughs] There’s a misconception that Carrie was a victim of him, and that’s not the case — she was a strong, smart woman.”

Here’s Every Brand Name Ever Mentioned On “Sex And The City”

Sex and the City
An Ode To Consumerism

A 27-year-old French guy seems to have gotten very bored of some woman in his life’s “Sex and the City” habit, so he put together an alphabetical compilation of every single brand mentioned in the series. Carrie and the girls are even more materialistic than we thought: there are 324 brands mentioned 838 times — and the video comes out to nine minutes! The girls talked about Tiffany’s, Birkins, Vogue, and Chanel a lot more than we thought. [Glamour, Pierre Buttin]

Sarah Jessica Parker Thinks “Sex And The City” Represents A Kinder Time For Female Friendship

“It’s kind of surprising to say, but in a way ["Sex and the City"] was a more innocent time. … I think so much reality television – and the women that dominate culture today – are pretty unfriendly towards one another. They use language that’s really objectionable and cruel and not supportive. I like to remember that Carrie and the other women in “Sex and the City” were really nice to each other. … It’s the random cruelty I really don’t understand. It’s not good for us. I don’t know, you know, how we go back in time to a better place.”

Sarah Jessica Parker confessed to British Harper’s Bazaar that media depictions of female friendship have evolved for the worse, and she kind of has a point. “Sex and the City” was never about petty lady-to-lady competition. Who knows, if the girls had lived and brunched in the time of “Real Housewives” and Twitter, their world may have been very different. She also had thoughts on why Carrie Bradshaw was so relatable (even though she was also so annoying): Keep reading »

13 Things I Would Like To Shout At Carrie Bradshaw While Shaking Her By The Shoulders

Rumors of a third “Sex and the City” movie are in the works, and I’ll be honest, I’m a little excited. I didn’t love the second movie (did anyone?), but I love the series. Like so many viewers, I feel like I know those characters and that they just get me — minus the show’s leading lady.

Carrie Bradshaw is a nightmare. She’s the worst example of a female role model I could ever think of, and an awful representation of single life in general. My fury at Carrie has gotten so bad that I find myself shouting at my screen when watching the show. I wish, more than anything, that I could shake her by the shoulders and ask how on earth she could be so clueless. Here are some things I wish I could scream at Carrie (besides “BE NICE TO AIDAN!” because that would fill hundreds of pages all on its own) — with accompanying GIFs of Carrie being annoying, naturally. You Can Have Carrie Bradshaw’s Shoes! (Sort Of)

You Can Have Carrie Bradshaw's Shoes! (Sort Of)

Let’s be real: the only way you could afford even one pair of Carrie Bradshaw’s shoes is if you skipped out on rent for the month. But what if I told you that you could own a bunch of Carrie Bradshaw’s shoes at once? It’s possible through the magic of art! This 18″ x 24″ print by PopChartLab features dozens of Carrie’s beloved heels from Christian Louboutin, Dior, Manolo Blahnik, even J.Crew. Plus, it’s made on recycled paper in Brooklyn (a place I’m not sure Carrie set foot in, even when when her best friend Miranda moved there). It’s the perfect print to hang while you try and manifest your dream closet. A girl can dream, can’t she? [PopChartLab]
