Fallen beauty queen Carrie Prejean and the Miss USA pageant have dropped counterclaims stemming from her controversial same-sex marriage statements made earlier this year that may have been motivated by a sex tape, writes TMZ.
Prejean allegedly dropped her demand for a million dollar settlement after a lawyer representing the Miss California Pageant showed a video of her engaged in racy sexual acts. Keep reading »
Oh Carrie Prejean, we’ve had so much fun getting to know the former Miss California and her distaste for gay marriage in the last year. She’s become one of the most recognizable beauty queens that we’ve ever had the pleasure to see actin’ a fool on national TV! In fact, she makes the perfect Halloween costume, especially if you live in a warm part of the country and can feasibly wear a bathing suit at the end of October. (If not, a tacky white evening dress is a good substitute.) Keep reading »
Another week, another Carrie Prejean eyeroll-worthy drama. The latest dirt? Our beloved ex-Miss California still owes $5,200 for a boob job paid for by pageant organizer K2 Productions, according to a lawsuit filed yesterday. K2 said it foot the bill for plastic surgery at Prejean’s behest, so she could “be more competitive” in the 2009 Miss USA pageant, and she hasn’t honored a verbal agreement to pay them back. (Verbal agreement? Get it in writing, people!) Keep reading »
Beauty queens in next month’s Miss California Pageant (where everyone’s favorite homophobe, Carrie Prejean, got her start!) won’t strut down the runway in bikinis, but will instead model individual outfits. Sashes will also be eliminated and two winners will be crowned, instead of the usual one. ““This year’s event will be bigger and reflect the progressive attitudes of the contestants as well as our forward-looking state,” said Keith Lewis, executive director of the Miss California Organization. “It will change the essence of Miss California USA from a bathing suit beauty contest to the style of a runway show during fashion week.” Well, that’s not quite the same as ditching the high-heels-and-bikinis parade because it objectifies women’s bodies and applauds an ideal woman’s shape that most of us can never achieve. But, hey, we’ll take what we can get! You can probably still count on false eyelashes, clouds of hairspray and fake boobies, though. [NY Daily News, L.A. Times] Keep reading »
Carrie Prejean is determined to keep her name in the news — and make some money while she’s at it. We told you in July that she inked a book deal. Now, the ousted beauty queen runner-up is suing Miss USA California pageant co-directors, Shanna Moakler and Keith Lewis, for slander, libel, public disclosure of private facts, intentional and negligent infliction of emotional distress, and religious discrimination. More proof that awful people don’t go away, they just get book deals: Carrie Prejean, former Miss California and the runner-up in this year’s Miss USA pageant who publicly tussled with Perez Hilton over gay marriage, just nailed herself a book deal.
Still Standing, out this November, will tell the story of the 22-year-old beauty queen’s scrapes and misadventures as she gets her boob job paid for by the Miss California Organization, defends herself against topless pics, says gays don’t deserve the same rights as straight people, and eventually loses her crown for “contract violations.”
Oh, joy! We’ll try to get our hands on a copy of Still Standing and share the gift that is sure to keep on giving…in the b.s. department. [US News] Keep reading »
Miss California, Carrie Prejean, has been dethroned for what is being vaguely termed “contract violations”, but what really sounds like a prissy attitude because Prejean refused to make certain appearances. Keith Lewis, a state pageant director said, “It has become abundantly clear that Carrie is unwilling to fulfill her obligations under our contract and work together.” The verdict isn’t a surprise, but is perhaps a bit belated considering the nude picture scandal that almost lost her the crown last month. Along with her public statements against “opposite” marriage (that’s gay marriage for those not proficient in ditz), Prejean hasn’t been America’s favorite figure. She’ll be replaced by runner-up Tami Farrell. With sex, beauty, lies, and probably a lot of tears, we think it’s only a matter of time before Hollywood adapts this story for the small screen. Paris Hilton could finally win an Emmy! [CNN]
