Walmart Sprays Summer’s Eve

If you thought douching with Lysol was hard on your ladyparts, take a gander at what Walmart suggest you use: a pressure cleaner. Talk about rode hard and put away wet! On their Canadian website, the chain retailer (accidentally?) added the wrong product picture to their “Summer’s Eve Feminine Spray Ultra-Extra Strength.” While our girl junk can get a funk, we doubt the lady-bits of Canada really require an industrial powered spray. Tween Sues Father…And Wins

When I was in elementary school, saying you were going to sue someone was the cool thing to do. If your frenemy did something to annoy you, you would say, for example, “Steal my juice box, and I’ll sue you!” Suffice it to say no suing went on back then. Oh, how the times have changed. A 12 year old in Canada just took her dad to court, suing him after he grounded her for disobeying his orders to stay off the internet. He had banned her from going on a school trip after she used a friend’s computer to chat on websites he had blocked at home and posted pictures of herself online that Dad considered inappropriate. With the help of a public defender, she went to court and the judge ruled that the father’s punishment was too severe. Getting grounded is severe punishment? [AHN] Keep reading »

Women’s Underwear Causes Fear Among Myanmar Junta

Apparently, there’s a superstition about female undergarments in Myanmar. The military junta fears any contact with underwear — thongs, bikinis, boy shorts, everything — will unsettle military rulers and cause their downfall. Panties for Peace campaign is urging Canadian women to pick a pair of undies from their drawer, glue a picture or write a message for the junta on them, register them with the organization, and then send them to the Myanmar embassy in Ottawa. Women in Australia, Singapore, the Philippines, Brazil, and other countries across Europe are doing the same, and while this Canadian campaign was just reported on Sify.com, it seems other Panties for Peace initiatives have been going on elsewhere for at least six months. Wouldn’t it be great if the people who work at the embassy donated all the underwear to women who need it? (Well, as long as it’s all clean.) [Sify.com and Guardian.co.uk] Keep reading »
