Sigh. Emmy Award-winning reporter Campbell Brown is leaving CNN. In a statement, she didn’t beat around the bush, saying, “The simple fact is that not enough people want to watch my program, and I owe it to myself and to CNN to get out of the way so that CNN can try something else.” And now, there’s a rumor going around about a very exciting “something else.” The word on the street is that Eliot Spitzer may get the 8 p.m. time slot, for a “‘Crossfire’-esque debate show.” The Spitz is not as nice to look at as Campbell, but he has been appearing on a lot of cable news shows lately.
