A nude photograph of Brooke Shields taken when she was 10 (yes, 10!) was removed from a London exhibit this week after Kidscape, an anti-child-abuse activism group in the U.K., declared it a “magnet for pedophiles.” Whoa … back up. Brooke Shields? Kiddie porn? How? Artist Richard Prince’s piece of Shields was set to be part of the “Pop Life: Art in a Material World” exhibition at the Tate Modern opening this Thursday. Prince’s infamous piece is a photograph of a photograph (yes, twice removed ... how post-modern) of a heavily made-up 10-year-old Shields originally taken by Garry Gross—shot with the permission of Shields’ mother. Is it weird to anyone else that Shields’ mother would be down with it in the first place? The piece has shown in museums such as the Guggenheim in the past without hoopla, but the Tate Modern removed the pic and shut down the entire room. So what do you think? Kiddie porn or art? Joan Rivers has been mouthing off all around town. Yesterday TMZ posted a video of her calling out Brooke Shields for pretending to be besties with Michael Jackson, even though she hadn’t actually seen him in years. Rivers snarked, “It’s called face time.” Clearly, face time is something Rivers is familiar with. Between winning “Celebrity Apprentice” earlier this year, getting roasted on Comedy Central, and her new show “How’d You Get So Rich?” on TV Land, the gossip queen has been drumming up more drama than usual. This week alone she also trash-talked Jon Gosselin, Robert Redford and Jay Leno.

Have you seen that commercial with Brooke Shields hawking that new prescription eyelash cream? Poor Brooke! First she waited until she was 22 to have sex because she felt fat or too tall or whatever, then she had the postpartum depression, and now we learn how she’s endured unthinkable life-long trauma because of “inadequate” eyelashes. Thank God for Latisse, the world’s first FDA-approved prescription treatment for such an ailment!

“I think I would have had sex a lot earlier! I think I would have lost my virginity earlier than I did at 22. I had the public and all this pressure, and I wish I had just gotten it over with in the beginning when it was sort of OK. I think I would have been much more in touch with myself. I think I wouldn’t have had issues with weight—I carried this protective 20 pounds [in college]. It was all connected. And to me, that’s a health regret.”

As someone who waited until I was nearly 21 to lose my virginity, this revelation from Brooke Shields in Health magazine is fascinating to me. I’ve often thought the same thing, that if I could go back in time and do something differently, I would lose my virginity earlier. My reasons don’t have to do with body image—waiting just ended up being a huge letdown! Looking back, would you change when you lost your v-card?

Kiefer Sutherland, already on probation for a DUI, is in trouble again for allegedly head-butting designer Jack McCollough at a swanky nightclub in Soho on Tuesday. Sutherland channeled his inner two-year-old after McCollough bumped into Brooke Shields and didn’t apologize. This story would be cute if it was about small children, but it’s not. [NYDailyNews]

Last night on Project Runway the designers had to create a work outfit that could transition to night for Brooke Shields’s character on Lipstick Jungle. Besides receiving immunity for the next challenge, the winning designer would also have the ultimate prize of Shields wearing the outfit during season two of Lipstick Jungle. They had 30 minutes to sketch and then Shields picked six designers from the remaining 12 to head up a team of two.

It’s weird—as much as I loved Sex and the City when it was on TV, in retrospect, watching the episodes on demand now, I realize how “meh” the show was in its last few seasons. Which is why I was half-super excited and half-weary of seeing the latest show based on a Candace Bushnell book, Lipstick Jungle. After watching the premiere last Thursday, I’m pretty sure that the show is going to have the same indulgent guilty pleasure quality of SATC, minus the oh-so-quotable-soundbites and wading pool-deep lessons.
