When I heard that Britney Spears and Nicki Minaj were teaming up for the Femme Fatale tour, I envisioned a clash of egos from two of the biggest women in the game. And according to MediaTakeout.com, I was right. It happened … and it sounds awesome. Allegedly, after their San Jose show on Saturday, an all-out cat fight ensued after Britney marched into Nicki’s dressing room to confront her for going over her allotted stage time. Britney apparently let a 10 minute run-over slide at the Sacramento show, but was enraged after San Jose, when Nicki’s performance cut 45 minutes out of Britney’s hips, lips and hair routine. Followed by a gaggle of her male backup dancers, Britney supposedly charged into the Minaj camp screaming, head-rolling and snapping fingers as her dancers cosigned for her. I can almost hear it now. “Uh uh, girl, you MUST be crazy to think you can steal Brit-Brit’s shine.” Keep reading »

“God, I feel I’ve gone to therapy just to erase some of them. The cornrows I wore with ’N Sync. That was pretty bad. Britney [Spears] and I wore matching denim outfits [to the 2001 American Music Awards]. Yeah, another bad choice. I’d probably pay good money to get some of those pictures off the internet.”
“That song. I’ve never been more proud of anything in my career … It really solidifies me as a songwriter in the pop music world, which is what I consider myself first and foremost. So it actually is really, really exciting for me when I hear [Britney] sing it. Like, when I hear my own songs on the radio I have to kind of turn it down or change the radio or whatever. When I hear that, I fucking blow the speakers out and I order everybody to dance.”
—Ke$ha tells New York why she decided to give her song “Till The World Ends” to Britney Spears rather than record it herself. Interestingly, the answer seems to be self-loathing rather than straight-up altruism. Too bad. The song has been on the “Top 100″ chart for 14 weeks and sold a million copies. But we bet Ke$ha has many more hits in her. [NY Mag] Keep reading »
Britney Spears is secretly engaged to her longtime boyfriend Jason Trawick, according to a British report.
The pop superstar has been dating Trawick for two years, and has expressed her desire to set up home with her beau, who recently relinquished his role as her agent so they could concentrate on their relationship.
Spears’ rep shot down rumors the pair was engaged in April after the singer appeared to be sporting a diamond ring on her wedding finger, but the couple is secretly preparing to wed, according to Britain’s The Sun. The publication reports that Trawick proposed by writing a romantic poem and filling their Los Angeles home with candles and roses. Read more… Keep reading »
Britney Spears‘ Femme Fatale was a little bit of a letdown. The videos just weren’t what we’d hoped for and her live performances were oddly stiff. But BritBrit is heading on tour this summer and now that she has had more rehearsal time under her belt, perhaps she’ll redeem herself? Britney, at least, is super excited for the tour. In this video, which she posted on her website, she checks out the stage for the first time. “Yeah! Yeah,” she squeals. “I love it. Thank you!” I think it’s sweet how in awe she is here. And it does look pretty dope—especially with all that lightening imagery. Keep reading »
“I wish her the best — that goes without saying. We haven’t spoken in nine or 10 years … We were two birds of the same feather — small-town kids, doing the same thing. But then you become adults, and the way you were as kids doesn’t make any sense. I won’t speak on her, but at least for me, I was a totally different person. I just don’t think we were normal; there was nothing normal about our existence. We spent way too much time being the biggest thing for teenyboppers.”
– Justin Timberlake on his ill-fated romance with fellow teen pop star Britney Spears in the new issue of Vanity Fair. I believe there are two kinds of people in this world: people who hold out hope that someday fate shall bring Britney and Justin back together and people who just don’t give a crap. I am in the former camp and it makes me sad these two kids don’t even talk anymore. Sigh. I mean, honestly, they once wore fancy matching denim ensembles on the red carpet — that’s a connection that shouldn’t just be tossed away. [ONTD] Keep reading »
Remember when Britney Spears used to perform at award shows as, like, a rule, because she was a huge pop star? Nowadays it seems like she’s trotted out of her holding pen to make random, half-assed appearances during other stars’ award show performances as some sort of “comeback” statement. So, that makes her random, half-assed, minute-long cameo during Rihanna‘s “S&M” performance at last night’s Billboard Music Awards her, what, 8th comeback? I love Britney, don’t get me wrong — I will love her until I’m old and grey and cranky and think even classical music sounds like racket. But seriously, I wish Britney was let off her leash and given the opportunity to stand and perform on her own, not just as a backup dancer in Rihanna’s sort of sad “good girl gone bad” fantasies.
Phew. Rant over. Last night’s big Billboard Music Award winners, after the jump… Keep reading »
Maybe it’s because I’m done with finals and I have nothing to worry about. Maybe it’s because all of my favorite TV shows are going on hiatus. Maybe it’s because I zoomed through my blogs too quickly this week, but I have to say, I’ve come to a sad realization.
Celebrity scandal is dead. Keep reading »
