My face tends to get really shiny, especially in the warmer months. Not in the cute and dewey way, more in the oil slick kind of way. Instead of layering on pressed powder, I prefer to blot it off like a proper lady. These 100 percent natural linen, preservative-free Boscia Fresh Blotting Linens with green tea absorb all excess oil and get rid of shine without messing up your makeup. You will look as matte as matte as can be, like you’ve been sipping tea in your rose garden all day.  [$10, Sephora]

I wake up to my signature puffy eye area every morning, without fail. It just so happens that my very favorite things are, in fact, the things that cause puffy under-eyes in the first place: salt, alcohol, coffee, contact lenses, staying up late, black eyeliner in my waterline … the list goes on. I’m not ready to give any of these things up right now, so I’ve given every supposed super-effective remedy (cucumbers, tea bags, ice, massage) a fair shot in the meantime.

Let’s cut to the chase — they never work, and if they do, they never work for me. What does work for me, however, is Boscia’s Super-Cool De-Puffing Eye Balm. This little twist-up stick sounds too good (and too costly) to be true, but turns out it’s actually the best thing ever. It soothes and refreshes my tired eyes, and it contains only skin-safe ingredients that won’t compromise comfort (in other words, it’s cooling, not burning). I’ve gotten into the habit of keeping it in the fridge and smoothing it on cold when I wake up. It’s the perfect pick-me-up, no matter how many glasses of red wine or bags of potato chips I had. It’s Boscia, not blackface. Boscia’s done some amazing marketing because the instant I saw this on the shelf at Sephora, I had to have it. A peel-off mask that’s as thick as tar? I imagined it pulling off my entire face to reveal what I always knew was lying below: Scarlett Johansson. Sadly, that did not happen. But, I was pretty happy with the results. Boscia’s mask promises to boost “…skin clarity and radiance. Removes dirt and impurities while refining the look of pores.” This is a mineral-rich mask made of premium clay that will strip away excess oil and naturally exfoliate. Keep reading »
