Yesterday, Lady Gaga launched her anti-bullying foundation, Born This Way, at Harvard University. This got me thinking of my own days as a bullied pre-teen—and the sweet revenge I was able to exact on my young male tormenter.

Halfway through sixth grade, I switched schools. I’d been living on Cape Cod with my sister, mother, and stepfather. Then my sister and I moved to Connecticut to live with my grandmother. It was a hellishly confusing time. My mother had left for what was supposed to be a week-long trip to visit friends in California. But she decided to escape her bad marriage by simply not returning.

In the suburban oasis where my grandmother lived, I was enrolled in the local junior high. Then, just in case my 11-year-old self hadn’t suffered enough that year, a young thug by the name of David made it his life’s mission to compound my misery. Keep reading »

Tracy Morgan Tells Gays To Stop Whining, Said He Would Stab His Son If He Were Gay

Oh my. It sounds like someone needs a spanking from Tina Fey.

A man named Kevin Rogers took to Facebook after a Tracy Morgan standup show in Nashville on June 3 to share the disappointing news that Morgan is an unabashed bigot towards gays. Not like “ha, ha, gay dudes wear product in their hair” but real bigotry. TMZ reports that the audience booed Morgan and some people even walked out.

So what did he say that was so offensive? Keep reading »

Lady Gaga Explains The Egg, Eats David Letterman’s Notes

Lady Gaga‘s much hyped Born This Way drops this week, which has our girl hitting the publicity circuits even harder than usual. In addition to being the musical guest on the season finale of “Saturday Night Live” this past weekend and having a threesome with Justin Timberlake and Andy Samberg, yesterday Gaga sat down with David Letterman for a chat. During the interview, Lady Gaga explained her new vehicle of choice, the egg. “It’s a place where I can meditate and experience rebirth,” she said. “So I just get inside of it and close it, and then when I feel that I have been reborn spiritually, I just, whoo, come out.” Keep reading »

When Did “Glee” Become An After School Special?

I love Lady Gaga and “Born This Way” as much as the next girl, but this preview of “Glee“‘s “Born This Way” episode just reminds me of an after-school special. (Except for the part when Mr. Shue calls Gaga “the queen of self-love,” which just made me think about masturbating.)

Check out another clip from “Glee” after the jump: Keep reading »

Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way” Cover Is Hideous

Lady Gaga released her “Born This Way” album cover images this weekend and fans are more stunned than when she showed up to the Grammy’s inside a giant egg. Half-motorcycle, half-woman, a red lipstick-ed Gaga snarls out from beneath a mane of blonde hair. I think it’s hideous and slightly scary. Does anyone love it? Lady Gaga Does “Born This Way” With A Mariachi Band

Yesterday was Lady Gaga‘s 25th birthday, and she Tweeted in the morning, “I woke up to chicken and waffles in bed, pink tulips, + little monster bday videos. I love you! I was #bornthisday.” Later in the night, her friends threw her a surprise party at a Mexican restaurant. Apparently, Gaga spent an awful lot of time communing with the restaurant’s mariachi band. “She was onstage for most of the night performing for all her friends,” a source said. “No one knew she was going to go up there and perform with them. I think she just loves to be on stage.” One notable moment—this mariachi version of “Born This Way.” Honestly, I still think the song is kind boring, in addition to sounding a lot like “Express Yourself,” but the mariachi instruments do really add something.
