Ugg Offers More Than Its Classic Boot

Last week, I attended a soiree to celebrate the opening of a new Ugg Australia store in NYC. I won’t lie–I expected to see shelf upon shelf of Ugg’s standard boot in every height and color imaginable, and I wasn’t disappointed. But there was so much more. I died for the Cayha sneaker, a classic shape sneaker in suede with a sheepskin lining. And many of the other shoes and boots were really hot and on-trend, too. Plus, there were some lust items, like a sheepskin coat that reminded me of the one Lisa McDowell wears in “Coming to America.” Did you know Uggs does home decor, too? Find out how you can win a pair of non-classic boots from Ugg Australia and check out some of the drool-worthy items after the jump. Keep reading »

Top 10 Reasons I Love My Sorel Boots

As soon as fall rolls around and the temperature dips below 70 degrees or so, I break out my giant Sorel snow boots and wear them pretty much constantly until the following May. I love them so hard. After the jump, my top 10 reasons why I love ‘em and why you should consider getting a pair. Keep reading »

Timberland Earthkeepers Collection Presents Eco-Conscious Footwear

Timberland continues its commitment to eco-conscious footwear with the fall 2010 Earthkeepers Collection–a selection of environmentally-friendly and recyclable footwear. Most of the women’s, men’s, and kids’ shoes feature Green Rubber outsoles, which are made with 42 percent recycled rubber. Timberland also uses 100 percent organic cotton canvas and laces in many of the designs. The women’s styles are made of leather from silver-rated tanneries, which means the tanneries have received the second-highest score for their environmental assessment, including energy reduction, water quality, and waste management. Do Not Want: Acne’s Highway Boot

As if the return of cargo pants couldn’t be more offensive, we now have this to deal with: Acne’s “Highway” boot, which comes adorned with hobo-like patch pockets. To be fair, we’re huge fans of the edgy Swedish label but can’t quite understand a) why you’d need eight pockets on your feet, and b) why they’re called “highway” boots? [Creatures of Comfort] Keep reading »

Cheapskate: Leopard-Print Shoes, Boots, And Bags For Less

The above objects of desire — Christian Louboutin’s Big Lips Booty boots, Valentino’s Leopard Hair Calf Bow Tote, and Lanvin’s Leopard-Print Knee Boot — all cost way more than $1,000! And while leopard print continues to be a big trend, we can’t justify spending a month’s rent and food allowance on boots or a bag. Call us practical. So instead, we found other leopard-print shoes, boots, and bags that won’t break the budget because none cost more than $200. See what we found after the jump. Keep reading »

Do Not Want These Space Snack Boots

Irregular Choice is quite a fitting name for a brand that manufactured the horribleness called the Space Snacks Boot you see above. What’s even funnier is that these atrocious boots are actually OUT OF STOCK. Darn! I really hoped to buy the ugliest boot known to man, but a bunch of people with offensive taste snatched them up before I had a chance. Shucks! [Endless] Keep reading »

Booties To Carry You All Day Long

As sad as it might be, it’s time to start thinking about fall fashion. The look and price of these Gap Suede Wedge Booties should cheer you up, though. These booties have a fashionable wedge heel that makes walking (and possibly running) comfortable. But also the style is highly functional. You’ll be able to pair these with jeggings, skinny jeans, slouchy trousers, and even romantic-style dresses. And since they’re rugged suede, they’ll only get better with age, which gives you a reason to wear them guilt-free all winter long.

Worth The Splurge: Alexander Wang Fall ’10 Shoes

A lot of our internet time here at The Frisky is dedicated to watching shoe porn. Call us pervs, but there’s nothing like a sleek pair of heels on a Monday morning to make the work week feel a little more bearable. At the top of our radar right now are Alexander Wang’s fall ’10 shoes. Aside from a couple foibles — like these and these — there’s not a pair of artfully deconstructed, interestingly shaped kicks we wouldn’t wear. Our favorites are the ankle boots at left with their textured toe area and rabbit fur heel detailing. They’re expensive as hell, of course, but if you find six crisp Benjamins laying in a gutter, you won’t be disappointed with these. [$578, Alexander Wang, Oak] Keep reading »
